Horse A-Z
7/2, won 9-runner bumper at Southwell (15.8f, good) on NH debut 116 days ago, running on. Form looks solid and he's open to improvement, so makes plenty of appeal.

9/2
Blue Bresil gelding who looked above average when quickening up smartly to make a winning start at Catterick 3 months ago. Slight concern that he's been off since, but open to improvement and highly respected.

Passing Glance gelding. Dam (c86/h93), 3¼m chase winner, half-sister to fairly useful chaser (stayed 3¼m) Kick For Touch. Bred to need more time and distance.

Not the most straightforward and hasn't achieved enough to make him of serious interest.

Fair form in bumpers so far, albeit only fifth at Kempton last time. Will need to pull out more if he's to feature in this.

£45,000 5-y-o, Imperial Monarch gelding. Brother to fair hurdler Imperial View, and half-brother to 2 winners, including useful chaser Daymar Bay. Dam placed in points. Highly respected on debut. Makes plenty of appeal on paper.

15/2
Well-bred 5-y-o who has been placed on each of his 3 starts to date, just unable to sustain his effort when third at Catterick 40 days ago. Should give his running once more, but he's vulnerable.

€20,000 3-y-o, Leading Light mare. Half-sister to bumper winner Firestep. Dam (h132), bumper/2m hurdle winner, closely related to bumper winner/useful hurdler (stayed 25f) Oathkeeper. One to note for top yard first time out.

£30,000 3-y-o, Pether's Moon gelding. Brother to fair hurdler Maid On The Moon. Out of a bumper winner and stable has a reasonable record in this sphere.

Forecasts

Lightfoot Lady (10/3), Aldsworth (10/3), Kracka Nut (9/2), Hurricane Bay (13/2), Stroll On By (15/2), Red River Valley (17/2), Carrigdoun Boy (10/1), Best Mate Dave (20/1), Exmoor Forest (50/1), Asian Spice (150/1)

Verdict

KRACKA NUT looked an excellent prospect when making a winning start at Catterick around Christmas, not needing to be asked for everything to stamp his authority in the closing stages, so he's worth a chance to defy a penalty. Fellow debut winner Carrigdoun Boy is a danger and Lightfoot Lady appeals as an interesting newcomer.
