Progressive staying hurdler with a tremendous strike rate in the last couple of seasons. Completed Doncaster hat-trick 3 weeks ago and his excellent attitude will hold him in good stead after a further rise.

Highly progressive type who acquitted himself well despite failing in his bid for the four-timer at Musselburgh 48 days ago, running into a handicap blot. Might have even more to offer, so strong claims.

Rewarded for consistency when scoring at Market Rasen (23f) in November and has held form since, so no reason why he won't give another good account of himself.

Gained a deserved success when bagging 3m Haydock handicap in January. Below-par sixth there only run since, so he needs to get back on track in first-time cheekpieces.

Easy C&D winner in February, then ran with credit when runner-up over shorter at this track 3 weeks ago. Remains well treated on old form and latest effort is backed up by the clock, so another bold bid expected.

Forecasts

Kaizer (13/8), Wakool (9/4), Small Present (5/1), Sultans Pride (13/2), Teescomponents Lad (17/2)

Verdict

WAKOOL has improved in leaps and bounds this season and it was only a rejuvenated rival who managed to see him off at Musselburgh last time, so he gets the marginal vote in what appeals as a strong race for the numbers. Sultans Pride is also highly progressive, while Kaizer has looked back to his best lately, so it should be a fascinating small-field contest.
