Hereford Business Club Mares' Handicap Chase

Off time: 15:20 | Winning time: 5m 20.90s

Barden Bella⁶⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Adam Wedge| T: Christian Williams| OR: 100| BF| D

6/4

Scored at Fakenham in January before very good second of 7 in handicap chase at Chepstow (23.6f) in January, splitting a pair of next-time-out winners. This looks an easier assignment with her rider taking off 7 lb and she should be the one to beat.

Jerminnie Green^v²²

Age: 8| Weight: 11-5| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: A King| OR: 93

3/1

Scored over 23f at Chepstow in November and produced her best effort since when third over a similar trip at Taunton last time, showing up well for a long way before tiring late (lost shoe). May prove better suited by this shorter trip and she's considered.

Form: 91PP53

Green Or Black^p,t⁴⁶

Age: 10| Weight: 11-2| J: Mr Edward Rees⁽⁷⁾| T: Evan Williams| OR: 90

12/1

Largely out of sorts since joining Evan Williams, primarily campaigned over hurdles. Hard to fancy switched back to chasing.

Form: 559660

Kiera Royale^h,t⁵²

Age: 11| Weight: 10-10| J: Jack Martin⁽⁷⁾| T: J Coulson| OR: 84

22/1

Scored at Worcester (20f) in July and produced some creditable efforts in defeat in the early part of the winter. Returned from a break with a dismal performance over hurdles last time, but the switch back to chasing looks a positive on her first start for a new yard.

Form: 654240

Diamond Rose⁹⁶

Age: 10| Weight: 10-6| J: Harry Bannister| T: J S Smith| OR: 80| BF| D

2/1

Winless since 2019 and is yet to run to above a poor level over fences (not a chaser on looks), beaten 30 lengths into third at Fakenham on her most recent outing. Needs to find improvement.

Form: 5-54753

Forecasts

Barden Bella (6/4), Diamond Rose (2/1), Jerminnie Green (3/1), Green Or Black (12/1), Kiera Royale (22/1)

This is a thin mares' handicap with clear preference for BARDEN BELLA, who split a pair of next-time-out winners at Chepstow and must go close under her 7 lb conditional. Jerminnie Green shaped better than the result over longer trips on her last 2 starts and is considered, whilst Kiera Royale enjoyed a good spell earlier in the season and should be closer to form back chasing.
