Fairly useful winner over hurdles here who should be fit from a creditable effort on the Flat at Wolverhampton earlier in the month. Can get involved.

Ashington^p⁴⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-10| J: Sean Quinlan| T: B Ellison| OR: 122| CD

6/5

Won this off 2 lb higher mark last season and wasn't disgraced when fourth at Kelso 49 days ago. Seemingly primed for a big run, so merits plenty of respect.

Form: 15-5184

Blakeney Point^b,t⁸²

Age: 9| Weight: 11-9| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr| OR: 121

11/1

Unreliable individual who seemed to be out of sorts when last seen 82 days ago, so others make more appeal.

Form: 133357

Zafar^p¹⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 11-1| J: Abbie McCain⁽⁵⁾| T: D McCain Jnr| OR: 113| D

4/1

Third win in a productive first season for this yard when seeing off 6 rivals at Musselburgh in January. Has remained in form without appearing to have much up his sleeve.

Form: 233152

Desaray Girl⁹^{(ex 7)}

Age: 7| Weight: 11-0| J: Emma Smith-Chaston⁽⁵⁾| T: Micky Hammond| OR: 105| CD

11/4

Thriving under this rider lately and showed an excellent attitude to complete the hat-trick over C&D 9 days ago. Penalty makes life tougher but likely to give her all again.

Forecasts

Ashington (6/5), Desaray Girl (11/4), Zafar (4/1), Lord Torranaga (10/1), Blakeney Point (11/1)

ASHINGTON made all in this event last season and his trainer has landed 3 of the last 5 renewals, so it's sensible to assume he will be primed for a big run. Four-timer seeking Desaray Girl is feared, and Lord Torranaga is on the radar following a solid showing on the Flat.
