Fern Hill³¹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-6| J: J M Quinlan| T: B I Case| OR: 134| C

15/8

Won twice over hurdles last term and found just one too good on first 2 starts since switched to fences, latterly in a good-quality Newbury handicap. Found heavy-ground Grade 2 too much latest.

Form: 11P-225

Castle Robin^t²⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: Paul O'Brien| T: C E Longsdon| OR: 132| D

11/8

Strong in the betting and found it far easier dominating just 2 rivals when doubling career tally at Doncaster a month ago. Very likely to give it another good shot.

Form: 63-1461

Grand Mogul²⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 11-4| J: N de Boinville| T: N J Henderson| OR: 132

9/4

Fairly useful winning hurdler who made a successful debut over fences following wind surgery at Kelso back in May. Soon done with following an early blunder last month but he's in top hands.

Form: 6/152-1P

Forecasts

Castle Robin (11/8), Fern Hill (15/8), Grand Mogul (9/4), Uncle Alastair (7/2), Bushypark (6/1), Tallow For Coal (7/1)

The return to 3m is sure to suit UNCLE ALASTAIR and he is taken to record a rather belated first chase win. Fern Hill can be excused his Ascot run and he is likely to bounce back, while Castle Robin looks pretty solid.
