Gaelic Park³⁵

5/1

Well-bred point winner who went in again under a no-nonsense ride at Warwick 35 days ago. Showed a good attitude that day, which should hold him in good stead faced with better opposition.

Form: 11

Issuing Authority¹²⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: James Bowen| T: N J Henderson

3/1

€30,000 3-y-o, £90,000 4-y-o, Flemensfirth gelding from a good family. Runner-up in Irish points at second attempt last time (Nov 13). Has joined a top jumps yard since, so major player.

Form: 52

Luke The Drifter

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: R Patrick| T: H D Daly

15/2

Lucarno gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Lady of The Night and bumper winner Marshmallo. Dam (c104/h88) ungenuine 21f chase winner (stayed 3m). May need more time.

Form:

Master Chewy⁴³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N & W Twiston-Davies

10/11

Third sole start in Irish points and shaped really well when runner-up at Chepstow on Rules debut 43 days ago, collared late. May do better, so boasts excellent claims.

Form: 32

Saint Bibiana^t³⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 10-10| J: David Bass| T: K Bailey & M Nicholls

20/1

Related to bumper winners but wasn't really fancied in the betting when only fifth at Huntingdon last month. Likely to come up short again.

Forecasts

Master Chewy (10/11), Issuing Authority (3/1), Kracka Nut (10/3), Gaelic Park (5/1), Luke The Drifter (15/2), Saint Bibiana (20/1), Rocket Robbo (33/1)

A competitive bumper for the numbers but MASTER CHEWY gets the marginal vote. He avoids a penalty having been collared late at Chepstow last month and is marginally preferred to Catterick=winner Kracka Nut and point-recruit Issuing Authority.
