Off time: 14:13 | Winning time: 4m 1.40s

Lac De Constance²⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR: 132

2/11

Didn't fully fire in bumpers but on the back of a wind op, made a winning hurdles debut at Exeter in December. Followed up in 5-runner listed novice there 4 weeks ago and will take all the beating.

Form: 35-11

Ben Bulben¹⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Bryan Carver⁽³⁾| T: H Fry

18/1

Hinted at ability in a bumper at Exeter but made an unpromising start to his hurdling career there 16 days ago.

Form: 45

Callisto's King²²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Bridget Andrews| T: D Skelton

28/1

Fair in bumpers and given a considerate introduction to hurdling when fourth at Doncaster (16.6f). Went backwards at Wincanton since and will most likely be brought along with handicaps in mind.

Form: 4947

Grand Knight²¹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: R P McLernon| T: S Curran| D

10/1

Easy winner of his sole point and showed plenty of ability when second of 17 in a course bumper on debut. Not in same form twice since though, so switches to hurdling with a bit to prove.

Form: 1/287

Hogan

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: David England| T: O Murphy

25/1

€55,000 3-y-o, Fame And Glory gelding. Half-brother to 2 point winners. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 3m) Lead On. Market best guide to expectations on debut.

Form:

Sporty Jim²⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Adrian Heskin| T: O Murphy

6/1

Flemensfirth gelding who showed some promise in bumpers and did likewise sent hurdling when seventh at Ayr (20.4f) 26 days ago, weakening from 3 out. Drops back in trip and will improve.

Form: 437

Zanevsky¹⁸

Age: 9| Weight: 11-0| J: Ryan Mania| T: Mrs Stella Barclay

200/1

Well held on only start in bumpers and showed nothing sent hurdling after 37 months off at Doncaster 18 days ago.

Form: 7/P

Professor Calculus¹⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 10-4| J: Tom Buckley⁽⁵⁾| T: N J Hawke

16/1

Maiden on Flat for Richard Hannon who has shown some aptitude for hurdling but will hold more chance in handicaps that test speed.

Form: 35

Forecasts

Lac De Constance (2/11), Sporty Jim (6/1), Grand Knight (10/1), Professor Calculus (16/1), Ben Bulben (18/1), Hogan (25/1), Callisto's King (28/1), Zanevsky (200/1)

LAC DE CONSTANCE has created a good impression in winning both his starts over hurdles at Exeter and, in a race lacking depth, is a straightforward choice to complete the hat-trick. Sporty Jim showed some promise on his first attempt in this sphere at Ayr and should leave that bare form behind.
