Beaten favourite on his last couple of starts but seems to be building up to something, back to somewhere near his best when runner-up at Musselburgh 15 days ago. Major player from the same mark.

Better than ever when scoring over C&D (mark of 136) over 2 years ago but little show since. Returns after 12 months off the track (had breathing op) and this should reveal what ability remains.

Made a highly promising start over fences when scoring at Lingfield in November but only third of 7 in 21f handicap chase at Market Rasen 10 weeks ago. Well worth another chance for top yard.

Winning hurdler for Anthony Honeyball who signed off 2019/20 campaign by landing handicap chases at Chepstow and Newbury for this yard. Market should point the way back from a 2-year absence.

Stepped up on previous efforts over fences when second in 23f handicap at Newcastle in December but hasn't kicked on, hinting at temperament when sixth at Carlisle 2 weeks ago. Others appeal more.

Verdict

BUSTER VALENTINE has frustrated his supporters in recent weeks but this looks a good opportunity for Mark Walford's charge to go one better than his runner-up effort at Musselburgh 15 days ago. The main threat could be Seven No Trumps, who made a winning start over fences at Lingfield in November so he's fancied to get back on track and prove his Boxing Day effort was just a minor blip.
