The Dancing Poet^p¹⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Oakley Brown⁽⁵⁾| T: B Ellison| OR: 115| D

16/1

Fair winner at 12f on Flat who made a solid start over hurdles in November. Scope to do better in this sphere but his mark demands it.

Form: 12/34

Beeno^h¹⁵⁰

Age: 13| Weight: 11-10| J: C O'Farrell| T: Mrs Dianne Sayer| OR: 113| D

40/1

Veteran front runner but clearly retains plenty of enthusiasm, making all at Perth in game fashion in September. Not in the same form at Kelso soon after and off since.

Form: 737316

Sambezi^p⁴⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: G Sheehan| T: O Signy| OR: 110| D

6/1

Fontwell maiden hurdle winner on final start of last term but yet to fire this time around, mostly over fences and tried in this headgear latest.

Form: 21-F94P

Pearl Warrior^p,t⁴⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-5| J: Alan Doyle⁽⁷⁾| T: I Jardine| OR: 108

5/1

Four-time winner on the Flat in Ireland. Patchy form on the level for new yard last year and solid if unspectacular start over hurdles.

Form: 4325

Home Fire^t1⁸²

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Danny McMenamin| T: N G Richards| OR: 103

11/1

Frankel gelding, out of a Nell Gwyn winner but has shaped like a stayer over hurdles so far. Heavy defeat on handicap debut in December and a tongue tie is now fitted.

Form: 4-227

Rae Des Champs⁴³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Craig Nichol| T: R Dobbin| OR: 103

10/1

Cost £90,000 after winning Irish point but she was only a modest fourth on her 2m Ayr hurdle debut in November. More like it at Newcastle and she retains potential on quick switch to handicaps.

Form: 1-44

Kiss My Face^p²⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Sam Coltherd| T: B Ellison| OR: 103

28/1

Still to register a victory but not discredited in handicaps during the autumn. Down in trip and could never land a blow in claiming company a month ago.

Form: 57-5367

Spark Of Madness⁷¹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-13| J: S Mulqueen| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR: 102| D

12/1

Justified strong support when opening account in a handicap at Ayr in November, coping well with the test of speed. Disappointing ridden with more restraint over same C&D latest.

Form: 09-2416

Blooriedotcom^t1²⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 10-13| J: D R Fox| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR: 102| CD

9/2

In fine form when scoring twice over C&D in early-2020. Lightly raced since but right back on his game when third back here and he has to be of interest. Tongue tie on.

Form: 21/P-543

Saryshagann^t²⁵

Age: 9| Weight: 10-6| J: Ryan Mania| T: A M Thomson| OR: 95

4/1

Fairly useful but ungenuine on Flat (stays 11f). More encouragement than previously for this yard when runner-up in a first-time tongue tie over C&D latest and he's now well weighted.

Form: 24/7772

Jackhammer¹¹⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 10-0| J: Sean Quinlan| T: Mrs Dianne Sayer| OR: 84WS

17/2

Fair on Flat but hard to know what sort of level he is a hurdler these days. 5 lb out of the weights on return having had a wind op.

Form: 053/932

Non-Runners

Set In Stone³¹

Weight: 11-2| Age: 8

T: R Menzies J: Nathan Moscrop

Forecasts

Saryshagann (4/1), Blooriedotcom (9/2), Pearl Warrior (5/1), Sambezi (6/1), Set In Stone (15/2), Jackhammer (17/2), Rae Des Champs (10/1), Home Fire (11/1), Spark Of Madness (12/1), The Dancing Poet (16/1), Kiss My Face (28/1), Beeno (40/1)

The fitting of a tongue tie seemed to help SARYSHAGANN when runner-up over this C&D and the strong feeling is that he is better than his current mark. Blooriedotcom usually gives his running at this venue and is a threat, along with Rae des Champs.
