Yet to fire this term, but his mark has edged down as a result and he was close up when falling 3 out at Ffos Las. Blinkers now the headgear of choice and he's interesting down in grade.
Found plenty for pressure when shedding maiden tag over 3m at Uttoxeter in December. Matched that form when runner-up twice since and represents yard in excellent form.
Pulled up on both his starts over fences this season. Didn't fare much better over timber last month so has plenty to prove at present in a change of headgear.
Kept on well for third of 11 at Warwick and this stiffer test of stamina will surely suit. Eased further 3 lb so one to consider.
Opened his account over 26f at Fontwell in October and matched that form when runner-up at Ffos Las a month later. Stamina-sapping race on Boxing Day took its toll and not in same form at Warwick.
Seven-time winner between the flags and some reasonable bits and pieces of form to her name under Rules. Didn't carry a win threat at Fontwell 3 weeks ago, though.
Won brace of handicap hurdle in a busy campaign last season. Just the one effort of note over fences this season, merely plugging on for third in a handicap chase here last time.
Back to form when fourth of 17 at Ffos Las in November. Worrying he hasn't finished his race off either outing since, particularly as he's now up in trip.
At the veteran stage now but change of tactics seemed to perk him up when fourth of 9 at Carlisle 3 weeks ago. Eased further 2 lb so he isn't without interest.
Ended 2019 on a high, bagging a couple of handicap hurdles. However, he failed to fire on all cylinders in 2020/21 and he seems a fragile sort judged on fleeting appearances of late.
Seemingly much improved when third of 10 from 22 lb out of the handicap last month. No major surprise he failed to back that up last time, jumping poorly.

Forecasts
Bretney (3/1), Kestrel Valley (13/2), Gats And Co (8/1), Timely Gift (17/2), Wind Tor (9/1), Ballybreen (9/1), Le Tueur (10/1), Hang Tough (11/1), Son Of Oz (12/1), Nessfield Blue (14/1), High Counsel (16/1)
Hard to place maximum faith in any of these modest staying chasers but BALLYBREEN was still there pitching when falling at Ffos Las when last seen and down in class, he could be the answer. High Counsel evidently retains plenty of enthusiasm despite his advancing years and is a threat, along with Bretney for a bang in-form yard.
