Off the mark over fences at Ayr last season but has been pulled up on 4 of his 5 starts since. Tongue tied for the first time, but obviously has plenty to prove.

Modest winning hurdler who wasn't disgraced when last seen at Hexham, but that was 17 months ago. Mark is fair, but this is asking a lot.

Has failed to progress over hurdles and was reported to have a breathing problem when pulled up over C&D on handicap/stable debut 20 days ago. Easily opposed.

Made a winning start in AW bumper at Newcastle but only modest form over hurdles, last of 5 in a handicap there 15 days ago. Others preferred.

Modest in bumpers and, while unable to feature over hurdles, he very much caught the eye in a novice at Chepstow 51 days ago. Step up in trip will suit and mark of 83 looks potentially lenient.

Modest at best on the Flat and no better than poor over hurdles to date, her best effort in this sphere coming when fourth at Kelso a month ago. Looks vulnerable to improvers.

Limited on the whole and failed to build on previous encouragement when a sub-par sixth at Catterick 46 days ago. Unlikely to be involved in the finish.

Modest in bumpers but hasn't shown enough over hurdles to make him of interest in this. Cheekpieces are tried.

Yet to show any worthwhile form, pulled up at Catterick last time. Hard to make any sort of case for.

Forecasts

Camembert Electric (2/1), Duty Calls (4/1), Great Raffles (9/2), William Cody (9/2), Moscow Spy (11/2), Economic Editor (13/2), Ex S'elance (7/1), Darius Des Sources (17/2), Jamil (10/1), Coral Blue (12/1), Dunnottar Castle (12/1), Snowed In (16/1), Black Minster (16/1), Arctic Road (20/1), Sparkling Dawn (25/1), Large Action (40/1)

Verdict

MOSCOW SPY is bred to be much better than a mark of 88 and his 3 hurdling outings to date haven't got to the bottom, so he makes most appeal in a race that lacks depth despite the numbers. Fellow handicap debutant Camembert Electric is a danger, while William Cody makes the shortlist after an improved second (to a subsequent winner) at Fakenham last time.
