Off the mark for the season at Kempton back in November, suited by a change of tactics (usually front runs). He's never won from a mark in the 130s but won this race in 2019 so enters calculations.

Point winner who belatedly confirmed chase debut promise when successful over 18f at Taunton in December. Not in same form from higher mark last time but leading claims back up in distance here.

Better than ever after 5 months off when winning 3-runner handicap at Stratford last May. However, he has offered little in 7 subsequent starts and is passed over here, despite his declining mark.

Underwent a breathing operation and was given a big chance by the handicapper prior to a successful reappearance at Exeter. Similar form when runner-up at Lingfield since and nudged up another 3 lb.

Has taken well to chasing, getting off the mark at third attempt at Kempton (18f) in October. Ran up to best despite a less than fluent round of jumping over C&D last month so high on the shortlist.

Fairly useful front-running handicap chaser who bounced back to form returned to a more suitable trip when second at Leicester 4 weeks ago. May feature.

Forecasts

Isolate (5/2), Chambard (3/1), Quoi De Neuf (4/1), Crealion (4/1), Gortroe Joe (8/1), Tight Call (12/1), Lock's Corner (16/1)

Verdict

A few in with a shout but a chance is taken on QUOI DE NEUF putting a disappointing showing behind him last time. This step back up in trip should be right up his street so Evan Williams' charge gets the verdict to notch a second career success over fences. Isolate confirmed his stamina for this sort of trip when runner-up over C&D last time so he's feared, ahead of 2019 winner Gortroe Joe.
