Off time: 15:10 | Winning time: 4m 53.00s

American Gerry⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Mr Nathan Brennan⁽⁷⁾| T: H Morrison| OR: 118| BF

1/3

Runner-up on 2 of his 3 starts in bumpers and fairly useful form over hurdles, clear of the remainder when runner-up in a small field at Fontwell on Sunday. Leading claims.

Form: 22-6222

Clean Getaway^h²⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: Thomas Dowson| T: P A Kirby

66/1

Disappointing in bumpers/over hurdles for Nicky Henderson, and hard to make a case for having been picked up cheaply by current connections.

Form: 5958

Mr Dealer²⁰

Age: 10| Weight: 11-7| J: J Kington| T: A Dodgson| OR: 100

40/1

Fair form in bumpers early in career and some promise on belated return/hurdles debut at Southwell (20.4f) last May. Yet to build on that, however.

Form: 327/547

Not What It Seems^h⁴⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: C O'Farrell| T: Micky Hammond| OR: 104

4/1

Fair hurdler who ran creditably on balance of his form when fourth in a novice at Kelso 23 days ago. Vulnerability in this company is there for all to see though, and below par at Wetherby last time.

Form: 43-2646

Punta Prima²⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr

33/1

Showed some ability when fifth of 11 in bumper at Sedgefield in December, then met plenty of trouble when down the field at Doncaster on sole subsequent outing. One to consider on hurdling bow.

Form: 50

Seven Arches²⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Ryan Mania| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR: 101

9/1

Bumper winner who has only shown modest form to date over hurdles but should be suited by this step up in trip, so he can't be completely discounted.

Form: 1-8P46

Forecasts

American Gerry (1/3), Not What It Seems (4/1), Seven Arches (9/1), Punta Prima (33/1), Mr Dealer (40/1), Clean Getaway (66/1)

AMERICAN GERRY was denied by an improver at Fontwell on Sunday but stuck to his task well in the straight, and he's firmly expected to get off the mark over hurdles in this weaker event provided the run doesn't come too soon. Seven Arches should be suited by the increased distance, so he's regarded as the main threat ahead of Punta Prima.
