Promising second of 10 in bumper at Chepstow on debut, bumping into a useful one. Not in same form there next time but still early days.

Cheap purchase who looks well bought considering he was a close-up fourth in a listed event at Cheltenham second time out. A repeat performance should be enough to get off the mark for new yard.

Has an appealing Jumps pedigree and made an encouraging start when a staying-on fourth at Warwick 52 days ago. More to come, particularly with this longer trip likely to suit.

Mustameet mare. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/top-class chaser (Grand National winner) Many Clouds. Likely to nee time and distance.

Multiplex mare. Half-sister to fair hurdler/smart chaser Soll, stayed 29f. Dam unraced out of fairly useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 27f) Tri Folene. Makes plenty of appeal on paper.

Has a moderate pedigree and, while he offered something to work on when third at Hereford 50 days ago, he has plenty to find if he is to trouble a couple of these rivals.

Forecasts

Hardy Fella (7/4), Monteplex (3/1), Deere Mark (7/2), Saquon (7/2), Hourvari (4/1), Armadar (22/1), Millie Maloo (80/1)

Verdict

HARDY FELLA was picked up for £48,000 following his excellent fourth in a listed race at Cheltenham last time and a repeat performance should be enough for him to open his account on debut for a yard that had the third in that event. Saquon made a pleasing start at Ludlow 55 days ago and is regarded as the main danger, while Monteplex is an interesting newcomer on paper.

  1. HARDY FELLA (IRE)
  2. SAQUON (IRE)
  3. MONTEPLEX
