Irish bumper winner who surpassed previous hurdles exploits for present yard when readily landing an Exeter novice (16.7f) 4 weeks ago. Looks a big player again under a penalty.
Brother to very smart chaser Captain Guinness. Bought for £65,000 after winning an Irish point and made an encouraging start over hurdles when second at Haydock (15.6f) 4 weeks ago. Should improve.
Won sole start in Irish points. Reasonable start under Rules, some promise in a Cheltenham bumper prior to finishing third in a Newcastle novice hurdle (20.3f) latest. Should improve.
Fair on the Flat but only minor promise on second of 2 starts over hurdles at Fontwell (17.7f) on Boxing Day. Likely type for low-grade handicaps further down the line.
Useful on Flat in Germany/France (stays 11f), winner twice in 2021. Acquired for €67,000 on back of final start in November and well worth a second look if market vibes are positive now hurdling.
€8,000 3-y-o, Milan gelding. Sent off at 100/1 and never a threat on Chepstow hurdles bow (2m) earlier this month. Rates a likely longer-term project on that evidence.
Successful sole start in points but fairly low-key start under Rules. last of 3 in a bumper during the spring and pulled up both starts over hurdles this winter. Can only be watched.
Modest form at best in a couple of bumper outings and not threatened either start in novice hurdles in recent weeks. Another likely to be seen to better effect in low-grade handicaps.
Related to fairly useful hurdler/fair chaser (stayed 2½m) Hi Tide. However, she's established as a poor maiden on Flat (stays 7f) and it's easy enough to look elsewhere.
Caused a shock when off the mark on the level at Kempton (12f) in November and not disgraced twice thereafter. However, his previous exploits in juvenile hurdles don't inspire confidence ahead of this

Forecasts
Captain Broomfield (10/11), Judicial Law (7/4), Kellahen (11/2), Dibble Decker (8/1), Gold Souk (50/1), Twistedfirestarter (80/1), Morani Kali (125/1), Lucky Bounce (250/1), Time Please (300/1), Sherella (300/1)
CAPTAIN BROOMFIELD shaped with definite encouragement when runner-up in a Haydock novice hurdle 4 weeks ago and, with progress highly likely, he's fancied to make a bold bid to make it second time lucky. That said, impressive Exeter scorer Judicial Law should give him plenty to think about under a penalty, whilst useful Flat recruit Kellahen demands market attention now hurdling.
- CAPTAIN BROOMFIELD (IRE)
- JUDICIAL LAW (IRE)
- KELLAHEN (GER)
