Well held in bumper/2 novice hurdles at Ayr so impossible to fancy on what he's shown so far.

Much better effort in bumpers when fourth at Sandown and collared dying strides on his hurding debut at Fakenham just under 6 weeks ago. Not dismissed.

Modest in bumpers but left his hurdling debut form behind when runner-up at this track (20.8f) in November, proving game after a final-flight error. Unlucky not to win, so should be in the mix here.

Some encouragement when fourth in bumper at Ludlow and shaped as if in need of the experience sent hurdling when fourth at Taunton earlier this month. Needs to brush up on his jumping, though.

Knew his job when making all on debut at Newbury in November 2020 and followed up 4 months later at this track. He's a useful jumper in the making and sure to be popular on hurdles bow.

Much improved to get off the mark at the fourth attempt in bumpers at Wetherby in November but beaten a long way back there (19.7f, heavy) when third on hurdles bow on Boxing Day.

Stepped up on debut when comfortably off the mark in Kelso bumper (16.2f) in May. Looked surprisingly short of pace upped in trip for hurdles bow at Musselburgh recently so step forward required.

Forecasts

Skytastic (11/8), Godrevy Point (15/8), Commodore Miller (6/1), Ron Burgundy (9/1), Hyland (12/1), Starlyte (18/1), Shighness (50/1), Bannside (150/1)

Verdict

Those with previous hurdling experience don't set the bar too highly so dual bumper winner SKYTASTIC gets the vote to make the perfect start in this sphere and maintain his unbeaten record in the process. A final-flight error possibly cost Godrevy Point victory at this track a couple of months go so he rates as an obvious danger, ahead of the Nicky Henderson-trained duo.
