Returned to form from out of the blue when landing a 23f Lingfield handicap hurdle last time. 14 lb higher back over fences and his profile is decidedly patchy, but he is 2-2 at this course.
Wasted little time over hurdles and made it third time lucky in this sphere in a heavy-ground Fontwell handicap chase (3¼m) on Boxing Day. Up just 2 lb, but more needed back down in trip here.
Showed ability over hurdles, albeit without managing to get his head in front. Best effort yet in this sphere when third at Plumpton (19.5f) last time and this step back up in trip looks a good move.
Clear-cut winner of back-to-back 24.3f handicap chases at Southwell last spring. It's been all downhill since, though, and he's hard to warm to on the back of a tame effort here 13 days ago.
Multiple hurdles winner, but yet to threaten following 3 attempts over the larger obstacles and hopes pinned on this step back up in trip sparking improvement.
Winner of a 3m Newbury handicap hurdle in February 2020. Didn't shape badly back from 22 months off at Hereford, but subsequent Ffos Las chase debut was hardly inspiring and now tried in a visor.
Showed ability in half-a-dozen starts over hurdles, not least when runner-up at Warwick on penultimate start. Failed to fire next time, but he will be a threat if able to bounce back on chase debut.
Yet to win in this country and while he has finished in the money on several occasions. it's likely that this 6-y-o was again be found wanting when push comes to shove.
Now 5 lb lower than for his latest success at Plumpton last spring, but with good reason (well held all 4 subsequent starts) and others make greater appeal.

Forecasts
San Agustin (11/4), Jaytee (10/3), Silent Assistant (9/2), Percussion (5/1), Star of Rory (11/2), Zuckerberg (6/1), Waikiki Waves (15/2), Roccowithlove (12/1), Prairie Town (40/1), First Class Return (40/1)
With doubts surrounding most of these for one reason or another, SILENT ASSISTANT could be the answer. Emma Lavelle's charge put in a good shift when third with a visor added at Plumpton where he left the impression that moving back up in trip would be no bad thing. A big threat may be posed by the unreliable but very capable Waikiki Waves.
- SILENT ASSISTANT (IRE)
- WAIKIKI WAVES (FR)
- PERCUSSION
