Ian Duckham's 70th Birthday Celebration Mares' 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 14:15 | Winning time: 4m 44.40s

Gaia Du Gouet⁶³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Bridget Andrews| T: D Skelton

7/4

Won sole start in points and looked a quality prospect when making a successful hurdling debut at Uttoxeter a couple of months ago. Longer trip should suit, so capable of going in again.

Form: 1-1

Nextdoortoalice³²

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Harry Bannister| T: A M Hales| OR: 120| D

11/8

Took another step forward to make winning start for yard in 19.4f Doncaster mares' novice in November, and followed it with a good second in a novice at Ludlow. Should give another good account.

Form: 4-3212

Theatre Glory⁵⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: James Bowen| T: N J Henderson| OR: 118

10/3

Fame And Glory filly who justified market confidence in a Worcester bumper on her debut in May. Followed up on Huntingdon hurdle bow, then wasn't discredited in listed company at Newbury last time.

Form: 113

Ballybough Mary²⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-1| J: Jordan Nailor⁽³⁾| T: N & W Twiston-Davies

20/1

Point scorer who has made a pretty uninspiring start under Rules. Others preferred.

Form: 2120-5P

Herewegohoney^t1⁶⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-1| J: C Brace| T: F O'BrienWS

33/1

Picked up for £62,000 after making a winning start to her career in an Irish point last May. Hasn't shown enough in two hurdling outings to think she can make a serious impression. Tongue tie goes on.

Form: 12F

Ivetwiggedit⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-1| J: J J Burke| T: B Pauling

200/1

Hasn't offered much encouragement as yet, so faces another stiff task.

Form: 007

Tokara¹⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-1| J: Stan Sheppard| T: T Lacey

40/1

Flemensfirth mare who was held back by inexperience and fell 3 out in a mares' maiden at Hereford on hurdling bow. Hard to fancy on the back of that.

Form: F

Game On For Glory²

Weight: 11-7| Age: 6

T: L Wadham J: Non Runner

Forecasts

Nextdoortoalice (11/8), Gaia Du Gouet (7/4), Game On For Glory (11/4), Theatre Glory (10/3), Ballybough Mary (20/1), Herewegohoney (33/1), Tokara (40/1), Ivetwiggedit (200/1)

GAIA DU GOUET readily made all at Uttoxeter on her Rules bow a couple of months ago and the form has a solid look to it, so she's fancied to get the better of Theatre Glory in a race the pair should dominate. Nextdoortoalice is best of the rest.
