Beat Buveur d'Air to win this last year. Well below par in 2 Sandown handicaps this season, though. Blinkers go on. Has to concede weight and even return to best is unlikely to be enough.

Hasn't won on these shores since October 2018 but did hit the target twice in France last season. Recorded a couple of creditable efforts there in the autumn but well below par at Auteuil latest.

Smart front-running hurdler/chaser at best, winning this in 2019. Recent years have been a struggle, though, failing to build on Doncaster second when down the field at Ascot. Had wind op since.

Very much at veteran stage but in form of his life this term, producing smart effort to win Bangor handicap on return and fine third in Grade 2 International at Cheltenham since. Should go well again.

Useful sort who was back to best at second time of asking for his new yard when runner-up in a 19f course handicap on heavy over Christmas. Something to find with a couple of these, though.

Won a warm 19f course handicap on Betfair Chase day and has taken it up another notch with 2m handicap wins at Doncaster and Musselburgh since. Progressive, tough and reliable, and the one to beat.

Forecasts

Tommy's Oscar (4/7), Hunters Call (11/4), Rockadenn (12/1), Navajo Pass (16/1), Global Citizen (25/1), Garo De Juilley (125/1)

Verdict

TOMMY'S OSCAR produced a really smart weight-carrying performance at Musselburgh on New Year's Day and Ann Hamilton's thriving 7-y-o is strongly fancied to make it 4 wins in a row back up in grade. Hunters Call might be a 12-y-o but he's never been in better form and is the obvious danger.

  1. TOMMY'S OSCAR (IRE)
  2. HUNTERS CALL (IRE)
  3. ROCKADENN (FR)
