Fairly useful on the Flat but has shown very little aptitude for hurdling in a couple of starts for this yard, looking a hard ride.

€10,000 3-y-o, Shirocco gelding. Clear signs of ability in 2 bumpers but shaped as if in need of the experience sent hurdling at this track (20.5f) 29 days ago. Better to come.

Down the field in a couple of 1¼m events at Windsor and offered little on hurdling bow at Kempton (125/1) just over 10 weeks ago. Easy to look elsewhere on that evidence.

Out of a bumper/chase winner, runner-up in an Irish point, and filled the same position both starts in bumpers during the autumn. That is a good platform now hurdling.
|

Leading Light gelding who was third only start in Irish points but only modest form at best in a couple of bumpers this winter. Needed experience on recent hurdles bow and should improve.

Fairly useful on Flat for Richard Hannon. Showed a fair level of ability when fifth on hurdles bow and took his form up a level when runner-up over C&D 17 days ago. Obvious claims for red-hot yard.

Fair on Flat, stays 1½m. Sold from J. S. Bolger for 16,000 gns, some promise on second start over hurdles when sixth at Ffos Las a fortnight ago. Open to improvement on her qualifying run.

Fair handicapper on Flat (stays 1½m), runner-up last twice at Kempton. Interesting runner switched to hurdles and any market support should be noted.

Modest winner on the Flat (including twice last year) but not seen over hurdles since finishing tailed-off last back in 2017. Easy to look elsewhere.

Fair maiden at up to 2m on the Flat for Jamie Osborne who shaped as if better for the run on hurdling/yard debut over C&D recently. Should do better somewhere down the line.

Second start when winning Lingfield AW Flat claimer for Jamie Osborne. Had wind op and showed aptitude for hurdling when fifth at Taunton 9 days ago so she's shortlisted with a tongue tie applied.

Poor maiden on Flat for Mick Channon and has shown nothing on both starts in this sphere so far. Impossible to fancy.

Boasts a good pedigree but looked one for longer term on hurdling debut at Leicester in November. Cheekpieces failed to spark any improvement next time so blinkers now tried.

Verdict

This can go to MARK OF GOLD, who matched his fairly useful ability on the Flat on just his second attempt over hurdles when finishing runner-up to a progressive sort over C&D earlier this month. With his top local trainer enjoying plenty of recent success, he can add another to that tally here. Dream In The Park, Drag Race and Ivy Avenue look the main dangers in that order.

  1. MARK OF GOLD
  2. DREAM IN THE PARK (IRE)
  3. DRAG RACE (IRE)
