Dual hurdles winner last term and promising start over fences following a wind op when third in 2½m Uttoxeter handicap. Hindered by errors both starts since but his mark remains a very fair one.

Dual point winner/25f hurdles winner who jumped better than 2 rivals to make a winning chase debut over C&D in November. Only fifth in a better ace at Newbury but can make his presence felt.

Relished step up to 3m when opening hurdles account in maiden company at Doncaster. Second to Beatthebullet on chase bow/reappearance here but ran badly on New Year's Day. Cheekpieces added.

Fairly useful hurdler (successful here in December 2020) and runner-up 3 times from 5 starts over fences. Didn't do a lot wrong when third over C&D last month.

Bumper winner who opened hurdles account at Fakenham (23.4f) in February. Left previous chasing efforts well behind when landing 7-tunner contest at Plumpton and 4 lb rise is fair.

Forecasts

Gustavian (6/4), Huntsmans Jog (5/2), Moroder (10/3), Beatthebullet (9/1), Gosheven (18/1)

Verdict

GUSTAVIAN could do with cutting the errors out but he's the most talented of these and is taken to get off the mark over fences. Beatthebullet was a bit disappointing at Newbury but is back at the scene of his last win and is feared most.

  1. GUSTAVIAN (IRE)
  2. BEATTHEBULLET (IRE)
  3. MORODER (IRE)
