Winning pointer/hurdler. Ran well at Wetherby on Boxing Day and quickly switched to chasing from a potentially good mark. One to consider.

Scored twice around 2m over fences last season. Jumped none too fluently and well beaten on last month's return at Doncaster, but could come on for that and handicapper has given him a hand.

Hasn't looked back since switched to fences, following up his Carlisle win at Musselburgh on New Year's Day. Up another 8 lb but could have more to offer, this longer trip in his favour.

Backed at long odds and bounced back to something like his winning Perth form in the spring when held in second here (22.3f) 3 weeks ago, despite jumping right throughout. Dropped 1 lb and considered.

Has immediately improved for the switch to fences this term, following home subsequent winner here (23.4f) before opening his account at Hexham over further, forging clear. More to come.

Off the mark over fences at Carlisle (20f) in February and back in form the last twice. Ran well sole run here over hurdles but suspect he'll be vulnerable to improvers in this contest.

Continues to fall in the weights but merely extended a losing run which is beginning to mount up when held at Musselburgh in October (plenty of mistakes). Tricky to fancy after a break.

Forecasts

Into Overdrive (10/3), Scottish Accent (7/2), Deep Charm (4/1), Pitempton Power (4/1), Uptown Harry (5/1), Ain't My Fault (12/1), Boy's On Tour (20/1)

Verdict

There is probably more to come from novice chasers DEEP CHARM and Pitempton Power. Stuart Coltherd's charge forged clear, despite a less-than-fluent round of jumping, at Hexham and is taken to defy a 9 lb rise. Into Overdrive is an interesting runner on his first go over fences.

  1. DEEP CHARM
  2. INTO OVERDRIVE
  3. PITEMPTON POWER (IRE)
