Smart chaser. Ran respectably in form terms when mid-field in Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham on return. Failed to get past the first in this headgear at Ascot since but player back down in class.
Veteran who looked better than ever when winning a hunter at Worcester in May and followed up in veterans chase at Aintree 5 months later. Predictably not up to Grade 2 level there since.
Scored 4 times in a fine first campaign over fences and taken form up another notch this term, second in Charlie Hall at Wetherby. Quickly back on track when fourth over C&D and back on a good mark.
Ended 2020/21 on a high and all the better for return when winning Grand Sefton at Aintree (21f) in October. Fell early in the Becher there next time and not on a going day in Welsh National since.
Ended long losing run in this race a year ago off 1 lb lower. Suffered a crashing fall in the Grand National final start last season, however, and both starts this term have been poor. Tongue tie on.
Useful sort who won here (20.5f) a year ago off 1 lb lower. Encouraging return at Newbury but yet to build on that next 2 starts, shaping as if this longer trip stretched him at Ludlow 24 days ago.
Veteran who ended time with Gordon Elliott with Listowel chase win in 2019. Only raced 3 times since, never a threat after a year off in competitive Cheltenham handicap 2 weeks ago.
Patiently-ridden chaser whose form has taken off this term, completing the hat-trick with something to spare at Haydock. Run of good form came to a halt at Sandown 6 weeks ago but type to bounce back.

Forecasts
Kitty's Light (11/4), Caribean Boy (9/2), Smarty Wild (9/2), Wishing And Hoping (7/1), Strictlyadancer (15/2), A Toi Phil (8/1), Mac Tottie (12/1), Double Shuffle (14/1)
CARIBEAN BOY shaped as if he's worth a try in headgear in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham on his return but got no further than the first when fitted with cheekpieces in a listed handicap at Ascot on return. He's worth another chance back down in class and with the headgear retained. Kitty's Light is on a good mark if able to reproduce his earlier season form so is feared most.
