Fairly useful hurdler and chaser for Y.Fourin in France, successful twice over the larger obstacles in 2020/21. Disappointing start over hurdles debuting for new yard at Haydock, though.

Useful bumper winner who opened his account in this sphere in a 20f novice at Ayr in November. Went off too hard there last time, and remains with potential.

Impressed when opening his account over hurdles at Huntingdon (20.6f) during early 2020. More miss than hit subsequently, though, tailed-off sixth at Lingfield last time. Unproven over this far.

Landed a Leicester seller for Olly Murphy 12 months ago but winless for Sophie Leech and generally below form for current stable. Others make more appeal.

On the up having joined his current stable, scoring at Ludlow, then pulling a long way clear with another improver at Hereford 9 days ago. Capable of getting back to winning ways.

Big improvement to land a double at Ayr, then acquitted himself well when third at Ffos Las in December. That form looks solid and another bold showing seems likely if he gets home.

Forecasts

Art Of Diplomacy (10/11), Bill Baxter (3/1), Be The Difference (9/2), Sermando (14/1), Perfect Man (16/1), Dalyotin (25/1)

Verdict

ART OF DIPLOMACY has improved on both starts for Dr Richard Newland and is able to race off the same mark as when a clear second at Hereford 9 days ago, so he can double his tally over hurdles provided the race doesn't come too soon. Be The Difference is also in a rich vein of form, so he ranks as the chief danger ahead of Bill Baxter, who should be suited by this longer trip.

  3. BILL BAXTER (IRE)
