MansionBet Challow Novices' Hurdle (Grade 1) (GBB Race)

Off time: 15:06 | Winning time: 5m 14.68s

Go Dante⁴⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: Aidan Coleman| T: O Murphy| OR: 130| BF

11/1

Looked good prospect with impressive victories in Wincanton bumper and Bangor novice hurdle, then wasn't seen to best effect when held off by Tweed Skirt at Ascot. Remains with potential up in trip.

Form: 1-12

Gringo D'aubrelle³²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: D F O'Regan| T: G Elliott

6/1

Bumper winner who had to battle to open his account over hurdles in a novice at Fairyhouse a month ago. Significant that his top yard have cherry picked him for this, so deserves respect.

Form: 13-211

High Stakes³⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: G Sheehan| T: W Greatrex| BF

28/1

Successful 4 times in Irish points before making a winning start under Rules in Wexford bumper in March for John Walsh. Good second at Ayr on debut for this yard, but this probably beyond him.

Form: 12111-2

Lossiemouth^b²⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Stan Sheppard| T: T Lacey| OR: 144

11/4

Has been a revelation since fitted with blinkers and took his form to a new level when bolting up in the Winter Novices' Hurdle at Sandown earlier in the month. That's the best piece of form on show.

Form: 22/0-111

Party Business¹²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: C J Todd| T: Ian Williams

33/1

Made the frame all 3 starts in bumpers and built on a promising hurdling bow when landing a 7-runner novice at Ascot 12 days ago. This tougher, but he's open to further improvement.

Form: 332-81

Stage Star³³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: Harry Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 139| CD

5/4

Highly promising bumper winner who is unbeaten in two over hurdles, making all readily in a C&D event a month ago. There's a lot more to come, so worth backing upped markedly in grade.

Form: 123-11

West Balboa⁴²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| D

9/1

Yeats mare who was second in a point before making an impressive winning debut at Warwick (21f) 42 days ago. Has a big jump in class to contend with, but she's clearly talented.

Form: 2-1

Forecasts

Stage Star (5/4), Lossiemouth (11/4), Gringo D'aubrelle (6/1), West Balboa (9/1), Go Dante (11/1), High Stakes (28/1), Party Business (33/1)

STAGE STAR hasn't put a foot wrong over hurdles as yet and, following a professional, authoritative display over C&D last time, he's fancied to make an immediate breakthrough in Grade-1 company. The thriving Lossiemouth is feared, while the fact that Gringo d'Aubrelle makes the trip over from Ireland looks noteworthy.
