Completed 5-timer off only 1 lb lower in this corresponding race 12 months ago. Out of his depth in Sandown Grade 2 but bounced back when fourth to Bass Rock in 2m4f handicap here on return. Player.

Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle winner in December 2019. Clearly not the force of old, though wasn't disgraced after 9 months off when fifth in 3m Aintree handicap hurdle 36 days ago. Tongue tie on.
Course winner who gained reward for a consistent spell with victory in 8-runner handicap hurdle at Market Rasen (23.1f, good to soft) 24 days ago, keeping on gamely. 6 lb rise may just anchor him.
Progressive handicap hurdler around 3m in the spring. Made an inauspicious start over fences on return but quickly put that behind him back hurdling when third to Teescomponents Lad at Market Rasen.
Made it 3-4 in handicap hurdles when seeing off 7 rivals on his 3m Wetherby reappearance. Held back by his jumping at Haydock next time but still on a fair mark if he can brush up on that score.
Signed off last season with a win at Ay and followed up in clear-cut fashion on return here (2½m) in October. Fared best of those ridden prominently at Haydock since and remains of firm interest.
Made the most of a straightforward opportunity when scoring at Perth in July but proved a let-down on handicap debut for new yard at Down Royal in October. Upped markedly in trip but more needed.
Opened his account in 13-runner maiden hurdle at Perth (20.2f, soft) in April, responding well. Not disgraced in Grade 3 novice at Navan on return but opening mark looks on the stiff side.
Signed off last season with a career best when winning handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (23.3f, soft) in March. Reappears from a 5 lb higher mark but she's tough and reliable.
Not disgraced faced with an inadequate test when sixth of 9 in 2m handicap hurdle at Wetherby last week. Significantly back up in trip now and is well treated on the pick of his form.

Forecasts
Bass Rock (6/4), Captain Zebo (5/1), Small Present (6/1), Flight Deck (13/2), Teescomponents Lad (17/2), Saint Dalina (14/1), The Worlds End (14/1), Wowsham (22/1), Perfect Man (28/1), Homme D'Un Soir (28/1)
BASS ROCK fared best of those ridden prominently on his first try at this trip when third in a competitive handicap at Haydock last month, so he remains very much of interest. Flight Deck is still on a fair mark if he can brush up on his jumping, while last year's winner Captain Zebo is another to consider having been eased 2 lb.
