J'Ai Froid^v²³

Age: 8| Weight: 11-8| J: Max Kendrick| T: L Morgan| OR: 143

14/1

Strong stayer who was prolific over hurdles for this stable last term and probably needed his chasing debut in a novice at Hexham 23 days ago. Should improve for that, so not discounted.

Form: 11112-3

Coeur Serein^p⁴⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.| T: J & A O'Neill| OR: 142| D

5/1

Made giant strides over hurdles during the spring and, with a run under his belt, was in the process of making a winning start to chasing when falling at the last at Lingfield 40 days ago. Big claims.

Form: 411-14F

Barbados Buck's^b1⁴²

Age: 6| Weight: 11-5| J: Harry Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 140| BF| D

13/2

Big-money buy from Irish points who proved useful over hurdles (won 3 times) but needs to put a lacklustre chasing/seasonal debut at Wetherby behind him. Blinkers could perk him up.

Form: 21110-3

Undersupervision²⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-1| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N & W Twiston-Davies| OR: 136

11/4

Point/hurdles winner who offered plenty of encouragement on his debut over fences when second of 3 here in October. Fell heavily at the third here next time, but remains with potential.

Form: 1142-2F

Corach Rambler⁴⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 10-13| J: D R Fox| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR: 134| D

2/1

Successful pointer who as 2 from 3 in novice hurdles and built on an encouraging debut when off the mark in this sphere in a handicap at Aintree 47 days ago. Open to further improvement.

Form: 1161-31

Eva's Oskar²¹

Age: 7| Weight: 10-11| J: Alan Johns| T: Tim Vaughan| OR: 132

13/2

Returned better than ever when scoring at Chepstow in October and backed it up when second to a game rival at Ascot 3 weeks ago. Should give another good account.

Form: 4F44-12

Forecasts

Corach Rambler (2/1), Undersupervision (11/4), Coeur Serein (5/1), Eva's Oskar (13/2), Barbados Buck's (13/2), J'Ai Froid (14/1), Barnaviddaun (25/1)

CORACH RAMBLER has a highly progressive profile and an excellent strike rate, so he gets the narrow vote to defy a rise for his facile success at Aintree in October. Coeur Serein was about to score when falling at Lingfield on chasing debut, so he's regarded as the main danger ahead of Barbados Buck's, who looks the type to benefit from first-time blinkers,
