Improved in jumping department to land novice at Carlisle on return and drop back to this trip a likely plus given he didn't appear to relish 2½m on handicap debut last time. Worth a second look.

In fine form during 2019/20, scoring twice over 2m at Musselburgh. Found to have been struck into when last seen 14 months ago at Perth so watching brief advised for this reappearance.

In good form through the spring and proved better than ever in first-time cheekpieces to record a third career victory at Newcastle 17 days ago. Looks sure to be bang there in his current mood.

Fairly useful on the Flat and promising hurdles debut (for John Halley) when third at Limerick in June 2020. Little impact in various race-types for this yard, though, and it's best to look elsewhere.

Fairly useful bumper winner who made a positive start to this season when third in Kelso novice in October. Not beaten far despite sketchy round of jumping on handicap bow recently so not dismissed.

Fair form over fences in Ireland and shaped a bit better than the result on hurdling/yard debut at Kelso 6 weeks ago. It's possible that he may find a few too strong making his handicap debut.

Forecasts

Wor Verge (9/4), Malpas (9/4), Lock Down Luke (11/4), Duty Calls (8/1), Blooriedotcom (11/1), Jack Yeats (22/1)

Verdict

WOR VERGE proved better than ever sporting first-time cheekpieces to notch a third career victory at Newcastle last month so he gets the nod to score again given his rich vein of form. Malpas didn't see things out so well returned to further on his handicap debut last time so he's fancied to give the selection most to think about back down in trip, ahead of Lock Down Luke.

  1. WOR VERGE
  2. MALPAS (IRE)
  3. LOCK DOWN LUKE
