Off time: 13:58 | Winning time: 5m 58.57s

Landsman^t,v¹⁷⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 11-12| J: Alan Johns| T: Tim Vaughan| OR: 120

25/1

Shaped well at Ludlow in May but failed to back it up next time, underlining that he's not one to rely on. Back from 175 days off, and others make more appeal.

Form: 23/00-24

Eragon De Chanay^v¹⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-9| J: N F Houlihan⁽⁵⁾| T: G & J Moore| OR: 117

7/2

Five-time winner over hurdles and, though he has a rather uninspiring record as a chaser, he's on an appealing mark now and his latest effort contained more encouragement.

Form: 3P2P-05

Roque It^t³⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Harry Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 115

2/1

Bumper winner for Olly Murphy. Fair form over hurdles for this stable (good third in handicap at Worcester last time), and likely to be well schooled ahead of this chasing debut.

Form: 26P4-23

Caspers Court¹⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 10-8| J: Ben Godfrey⁽⁵⁾| T: K Woollacott| OR: 102

5/2

Landed a gamble over hurdles on return at Exeter last term and has shown enough in this sphere to think he can win races when it all clicks. Merits respect.

Form: 262F-33

Catch The Cuban^p,t¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 10-8| J: Harry Kimber⁽⁷⁾| T: C L Tizzard| OR: 102| C

10/3

Hit and miss profile overall but he has been holding his form of late and gained reward with victory at this course a fortnight ago. Up 4 lb and chance can't be ignored in a weak race.

Form: 352321

Forecasts

Roque It (2/1), Caspers Court (5/2), Catch The Cuban (10/3), Eragon De Chanay (7/2), Landsman (25/1)

This might not take much winning and it would be no surprise were ROQUE IT to make a better chaser than hurdler, so he gets the narrow vote ahead of recent winner Catch The Cuban, who is hard to place maximum faith in due to temperament issues. Caspers Court is also worth considering.
