Summerfield Developments Novices' Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 13:25 | Winning time: 6m 8.27s

Just A Whim¹³³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-12| J: Jack Andrews⁽⁵⁾| T: L Horsfall| OR: 115| BF

5/1

Improved display when running out an easy winner of a Uttoxeter maiden (23.3f) in July. However, that race fell apart and unable to follow up under a penalty at Worcester latest. Returns to handicaps.

Form: 842-515

Famoso^t³²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: Harry Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 110| BF

6/1

Placed a couple of times in maiden hurdles last season and, while disappointing at Wincanton (after a breathing operation) on handicap/seasonal debut, he's probably worth another chance.

Form: 48032-7

Young O'Leary²²⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-3| J: David Prichard⁽⁵⁾| T: Tim Vaughan| OR: 106| BF| C

17/2

Placed in points and built on hurdling promise to make winning chasing debut here in March. Followed it with a poor run and hasn't been seen since April, but still relatively unexposed for new yard.

Form: 2/4P215-

Fantomas³⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N & W Twiston-Davies| OR: 105

15/2

Fair in bumpers and shaped better than first time up over hurdles when third in a novice at Worcester on reappearance. Has gone backwards from that, however.

Form: 234-398

Nelsons Rock¹⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-7| J: Harry Kimber⁽⁷⁾| T: C L Tizzard| OR: 96| D

1/1

Dual point winner who delivered easily his most encouraging effort under Rules when fourth in a novice hurdle at Wincanton last time. Could be thrown in off 96 switched to handicaps/upped in trip.

Form: 11/54P4

Aeronisi^t²⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 10-7| J: Alan Johns| T: Tim Vaughan| OR: 96

11/1

Yet to show anything in novice/maiden hurdles and, while bred to do better, the handicapper has taken no chances with his opening mark.

Form: 54-5

Forecasts

Nelsons Rock (1/1), Just A Whim (5/1), Famoso (6/1), Fantomas (15/2), Young O'Leary (17/2), Aeronisi (11/1)

NELSONS ROCK offered more promise on his qualifying run at Wincanton recently and, given he has won a couple of points, there's every chance an opening mark of 96 underestimates him, so he makes obvious appeal upped markedly in trip with Harry Kimber also taking a useful 7 lb off. Famoso is a danger if he can put a sub-par reappearance behind him, and Just A Whim isn't a forlorn hope.
