Black Ebony³²⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-9| J: Thomas Dowson| T: P A Kirby| OR: 106

28/1

Lightly-raced maiden who ran below pick of form for Ruth Jefferson when well held sixth on yard debut at Kelso (22.7f) last December. Market may prove the best guide on return to action.

Form: 7248/26-

Bembridge²⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-8| J: J J Burke| T: O Sherwood| OR: 105| D

10/3

Stepped up on exploits in novice/maiden hurdles when making a winning handicap debut at Ffos Las (20f) in May. Heavy ground may not have been ideal on return last month and better expected here.

Form: 5502-15

Methusalar²⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Tom Cannon| T: A King| OR: 99

11/2

Lightly-raced 5-y-o who proved too keen to do himself justice when third over extended 18f trip at Stratford in October. Mark unchanged and he's not dismissed out of hand on balance.

Form: 454-343

The Yellow Mini^b⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 10-9| J: G Sheehan| T: M Wigham| OR: 110

12/1

Has found her niche over hurdles, successful on debut at Fontwell in September and hitting frame next 2 starts. Not in same form next 2 starts but switch to handicaps a plus now at least.

Form: 12234

Ten Past Midnight^p²⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 10-3| J: James Best| T: M Keighley| OR: 86

7/4

Confirmed more positive signs when landing handicaps at Newton Abbot/Uttoxeter at around 2m last month, his attitude looking a useful asset. Assessor applies some pressure but claims in hat-trick bid.

Form: 0-46211

Forecasts

Ten Past Midnight (7/4), What A Glance (11/4), Bembridge (10/3), Methusalar (11/2), The Yellow Mini (12/1), Black Ebony (28/1)

A competitive handicap with the narrow vote in favour of BEMBRIDGE. A low-mileage 5-y-o, he improved to open his account on handicap debut in the spring and had excuses on account of heavy ground when below par on return last month. He can come out on top, with Ten Past Midnight and What A Glance others fancied to feature.
