Limited to just 2 starts last term, but back on track following a wind op when justifying mark support on return at Kelso (16.2f, good to soft). Remains feasibly treated up 7 lb and merits respect.

Didn't show much in points and while his Rules debut second in a Perth maiden hurdle was encouraging, he has failed to build on that in 2 subsequent starts. Improvemend needed now handicapping.

Back-to-back winner in February and put disappointing reappearance effort firmly behind him when striking at Kelso (20.9f, soft) recently. 6 lb rise may not be enough to prevent a follow-up here.

Fairly useful Flat winner and bettered juvenile form to come out on top in a Perth maiden hurdle in September. Form has subsequently dipped, though, and he looks vulnerable.

Borderline smart hurdler in his pomp, but he's clearly not the force of old and others make greater appeal.

Fairly useful bumper winner who made a positive start to this season when third in an 11-runner Kelso novice (16.2f, good to soft) last month. Going up in trip for this handicap bow looks a good move.

Has shown more spark since venturing down the handicap route, good fourth of 12 off this mark at Perth (3m, soft) when last seen in May. This trip will be more suitable and he's shortlisted.

Forecasts

Curramore (5/4), Foster'sisland (9/2), Soivegotachance (7/1), Lock Down Luke (15/2), Pitempton Power (15/2), Red Missile (17/2), Burnt Ash (10/1), Blow By Blow (16/1), Calivigny (16/1)

Verdict

This looks a shade tougher than the Kelso handicap FOSTER'SISLAND landed earlier this month, but he did the job in good style and a 6 lb rise looks fair on the face of it. The 6-y-o is marginally preferred to Curramore, who also returned to form when scoring at Kelso in October. This is Calivigny's time of year and he will be a threat if on-song.

  1. FOSTER'SISLAND
