5/4

Smart hurdler who ran a bit below that level when runner-up both starts over fences last term. May yet do better as a chaser but opening mark demands it. Arrives fit from a recent spin on the Flat.

11/2

Very useful form when runner-up in Doncaster novice handicap chase for Paul Nicholls on completed start over fences. Broke blood vessel on return at Uttoxeter though, so comes with risks attached.

6/5

Much improved over hurdles last season, reaching a useful level. Whipped round at the start when comfortably held on Uttoxeter chasing debut/return 15 days ago, but is capable of much better.

Forecasts

Fransham (6/5), Cornerstone Lad (5/4), Magic Dancer (4/1), Fast Buck (11/2)

MAGIC DANCER has come to chasing late, but has really taken well to it and appeals as easily the most solid option despite being well out of the weights (beat 2 of these rivals last time). Fransham was much improved over hurdles last season and is surely capable of better in this sphere.
