Point winner who displayed fair form in 3 qualifying runs over hurdles last season. Promising start over fences when third at Newton Abbot last month and the form has been boosted since. Respected.

Readily opened his account over fences at Southwell in June but he fell at Uttoxeter the following month and was let down by his jumping when remote fourth at Kempton last month.

Won 3 hurdles in early-2020 but failed to reach the same heights in only 3 outings last term and he was beaten a long way out on last month's C&D chase debut after wind surgery. Can only be watched.

Southwell maiden hurdle winner in May but has posted a couple of disappointing runs in handicaps since, the latter when switched to fences after wind surgery. Something to prove for now.

Won 3 times at Southwell last season. Unseated early on Wetherby return. Consistent sort who is likely to give his running.

Eased plenty in the weights and finally capitalised when getting on top close home at Bangor (3m) in July. Two lacklustre displays since, though.

Offered some promise over hurdles last season and is bred for chasing. Interesting to see if there's any confidence behind him in the betting on his return from 8 months off.

Showed he can be competitive from this sort of mark when fourth over hurdles in May. Switches to fences on his return to action (placed in point at start of career).

Won over C&D on first 2 chase starts and wasted no time bouncing back from a poor run at Perth when eased down to score by 3 lengths at Warwick a week ago. Can defy penalty.

Winning pointer. Pulled up on his chase debut in February but was in the process of showing more, albeit fading in third, when unseating 2 out in 3m Uttoxeter handicap on return.

Fair maiden hurdler/chaser, although he wasn't at his best when third of 5 in a 21f hurdle last time. Second in a chase over this trip in Ireland in May. First start over fences for this yard.

Forecasts

Head On (7/4), Tallow For Coal (10/3), Rapid Flight (17/2), That's The Badger (12/1), Jobsonfire (14/1), Cardboard Gangster (14/1), Ecossais (16/1), Cesar Et Rosalie (16/1), The Composeur (16/1), In The Detail (18/1), Carlow Farmer (22/1)

Verdict

HEAD ON had plenty in hand at Warwick last Friday and can make light of a penalty and take his chase record to an impressive 4 wins from 5 starts. Tallow For Coal shaped encouragingly on hs chase debut at Newton Abbot last month and should have more to offer so he's feared most ahead of Oliver Greenall's Ecossais, who was largely consistent in similar company last term.
