Fair chaser who was running well (in third) when falling at last in hunter at Ascot in March but he's merely added to patchy record with 3 poor runs since. Hard to know what mood he'll show up in.
Clearly retains plenty of ability judged on this year's efforts, subsequently promoted in 17f Stratford hunter. Looked unsuited by drop back in trip at Fontwell last time and should go closer here.
Fair form when opening account in 2m2f handicap here early last year but not much to shout about since. Makes chase debut after 8 months off and market should guide expectations.
Back on track sent chasing after 6 months off when second of 8 in handicap chase (9/2) at Fakenham (24.2f) a fortnight ago. Yard among the winners and he's capable of taking a race of this nature.
Fair hurdles winner who went like the clear best horse at the weights when finishing runner-up at Fontwell 3 weeks ago, collared close home having made most under an aggresive ride. Should feature.
Fairly useful 20f winner over hurdles but yet to match that form in this sphere, possibly needing the run when a well-beaten third at Uttoxeter 26 days ago. This outing should reveal more.
Good type physically who finished runner-up at this course (23.1f, heavy) in January. Not in same form there 6 weeks later but he's in great hands and can't be dismissed on chase bow/reappearance.
Winning pointer who was placed in a couple of handicap chases in the spring and found some more improvement when scoring at Market Rasen on return. Similar form last 2 starts (unseated last time).
Showed first form when runner-up at Newton Abot in April. Not scaled same heights since, possibly needing the run when fourth back there on reappearance 20 days ago. More needed to figure.

Heavey (9/4), Macfin (16/5), Normandy Soldier (11/2), Storm Force Ben (6/1), Writteninthesand (6/1), Bonanza Sam (12/1), Magna Sam (18/1), Creative Inerta (20/1), Endless Flight (22/1), Treacys Jim (50/1)
MACFIN probably isn't 100% straightforward, but he's clearly got plenty of ability and he gets the vote to go one better than on his recent chasing debut with improvement on the cards. Heavey looked in control for most of the way (traded 1.03 in-running) before being collared late on at Fontwell 3 weeks ago so he's feared most if in the same mood, ahead of Creative Inerta.
