Captain Zebo¹⁹⁰

Age: 9| Weight: 11-12| J: Mr John Dixon⁽⁷⁾| T: J E Dixon| OR: 145| C| D

9/1

Continued his winning streak when clinging on to bring up the 5-timer in a 25f handicap here in December. Brushed aside in the Select Hurdle in April but this far more suitable back at Carlisle.

Tommy's Oscar¹⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: Danny McMenamin| T: Mrs A Hamilton| OR: 139| BF

7/4

Fine novice campaign last term, winning 4 times and was third in the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr. Picked up where he left off when runner-up at Wetherby 3 weeks ago and should be more to come.

Form: 12613-2

Mint Condition²²⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 11-5| J: Kielan Woods| T: J Candlish| OR: 138| D

6/1

Ex-pointer who had an excellent 2020/21 season, winning a trio of handicaps, latest at Wetherby on Boxing Day and signed off with a really good second at Uttoxeter. Tough and likeable.

Form: 141242-

Albert's Back²⁵⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: B S Hughes| T: M & D Easterby| OR: 137

18/1

Back on the up returned to hurdles, decisive winner of brace of handicaps last autumn before falling at first at Wetherby in February. Very capable fresh and he figures on a very fair mark.

Form: 325/11F-

Teescomponents Lad^p¹⁸

Age: 8| Weight: 10-12| J: Tom Midgley⁽⁷⁾| T: G Boanas| OR: 131| C

15/2

Added to tally at Market Rasen last November. Returned from a break with a brace of runner-up efforts in recent weeks and he can remain competitive. Back in trip.

Form: 254-722

Bass Rock^t¹⁹⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 10-4| J: Ryan Mania| T: A M Thomson| OR: 123WS

8/1

From a useful French family and didn't need to improve on earlier form to make a successful handicap debut fitted with a tongue tie at Ayr in April. That wasn't much of a race and up 8 lb on return.

Form: 5/22321-

Grizzly James⁴⁷⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 10-4| J: Charlie Deutsch| T: Miss V Williams| OR: 123

6/1

Fairly useful form over hurdles, won 4-y-o event at Dieppe (by 8 lengths from Homer) in 2020/21. Has left Gabriel Leenders and been off a fair while but should improve for new yard.

Form: 5/31-

Mayo Star²³²

Age: 9| Weight: 10-3| J: Sean Quinlan| T: N G Richards| OR: 122| D

18/1

Winner of both starts over hurdles upon joining this yard. Rarely stood much racing and found less than looked likely when last seen in March.

Form: 3211/44-

Eternally Yours²⁵¹

Age: 8| Weight: 10-3| J: Craig Nichol| T: D W Whillans| OR: 122

18/1

Not at her best in handful of appearances in 2019/20. Back on track when runner-up in December but pulled up at this track 2 months later and off since.

Form: 2373/2P-

Forecasts

Tommy's Oscar (7/4), Grizzly James (6/1), Mint Condition (6/1), Teescomponents Lad (15/2), Bass Rock (8/1), Captain Zebo (9/1), Eternally Yours (18/1), Albert's Back (18/1), Mayo Star (18/1)

TOMMY'S OSCAR did a lot right when runner-up on reappearance at Wetherby and on that evidence, there's a bigger performance in his locker. Captain Zebo defends an unbeaten Carlisle record and is feared given his record fresh, with Albert's Back also of interest in a good-quality handicap.
