Useful hurdler who made a winning start over fences on the back of a wind op in 2m Uttoxeter novice 19 days ago, idling by 2½l from Annual Invictus. Shoulders 8 lb penalty but still well in the mix.

Made it 3-5 over fences in 4-runner handicap chase at Uttoxeter (22.5f) in July, always holding on. Up 3 lb but he's weighted to go well once more.

Ended last term on the up over hurdles, bagging a hat-trick, and he made a promising start in this sphere when 2½l second to Faivoir in 2m Uttoxeter novice. Player with this longer trip sure to suit.

Useful hurdler who signed off with easy novice success at Wincanton in March. Returns after a wind op, and this winning pointer is an interesting chasing recruit.

Off the mark over hurdles with plenty to spare on Hereford handicap bow (19.7f) in February. Doubled tally back in a novice at Fakenham and absence rarely an issue with this yard. Chase debut.

Forecasts

Faivoir (2/1), Annual Invictus (11/4), Back On The Lash (4/1), Danny Kirwan (5/1), Torn And Frayed (15/2)

Verdict

ANNUAL INVICTUS shaped really well on his chasing bow when runner-up to Faivoir at Uttoxeter and enoys an 8 lb pull now so he gets the nod with the step up in trip a big plus too for Chris Gordon's likeable sort. Dan Skelton's 6-y-o was idling that day so is still feared most, although both fencing debutant Danny Kirwan and well-weighted Back On The Lash need considering too.

  1. ANNUAL INVICTUS (IRE)
  2. FAIVOIR (FR)
  3. DANNY KIRWAN (IRE)
