Ludlow Brewery Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 13:00 | Winning time: 3m 42.00s

Annual Review^t³⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: P J Brennan| T: F O'Brien

13/2

Just modest form in bumpers to date, hitting the frame a couple of times recently, but may up his game on first go at hurdling, so not completely discounted.

Form: 69-44

Image of Stars that are filled with the colour gold

Bricklagger¹⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: Miss E C Lavelle| D

10/1

Fair bumper winner (on AW) who was never remotely involved in a novice at Huntingdon on hurdling debut 16 days ago, so hard to imagine he'll feature seriously in this.

Form: 7915-3

Clear The Runway^t¹⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Adam Wedge| T: L Morgan

9/2

Placed in points and made a satisfactory start under Rules when third in a novice at Kelso 18 days ago, albeit shaping like a stayer. Claims if he doesn't find this test too sharp.

Form: P/F352-3

Doyens De Ante¹⁹³

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Charlie Hammond| T: M Young

20/1

Signs of ability/over hurdles, but looks more of a handicap type.

Form: 4450-

Fitz The Brief^t1¹⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: J M Quinlan| T: R Dickin

200/1

Showed a bit in a bumper prior to a couple of inauspicious displays over hurdles, latterly when pulled up in a novice at Uttoxeter 18 days ago.

Form: 5-64P

Full Of Light¹⁵³

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: N de Boinville| T: N J Henderson

8/13

Belied odds of 20/1 to make a winning Rules debut in a bumper at Downpatrick for Margaret Mullins, and has been found a good opportunity to follow suit on hurdling bow for top British yard.

Form: P-1

Iggy Iggins^t¹⁵⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Lee Edwards| T: T R Gretton

250/1

No sign of ability yet.

Form: 77-5

Key To The Moon^h¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N & W Twiston-Davies

8/1

Poor form in bumpers, leaving Pam Sly prior to recent reappearance at Worcester, so hard to make a strong case for switched to hurdling.

Form: 0-5

Marias Lad¹⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: Miss H C Tucker⁽⁷⁾| T: R Potter

200/1

Unplaced in a point and fared no better in a novice at Uttoxeter on hurdling debut. Easily passed over.

Form: 5-0

Pedro De Styles^t³⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Mr Jason Dixon⁽⁵⁾| T: Mrs N S Evans

200/1

Modest performer on the Flat who was below form at Wolverhampton last time and isn't guaranteed to get home on his first try over hurdles.

Form:

Yambocharlie^h1¹⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 10-11| J: Alan Johns| T: S Allwood

250/1

Bred to do better in time but no immediate encouragement in a bumper/novice hurdle.

Form: 3-0

Forecasts

Full Of Light (8/13), Clear The Runway (9/2), Annual Review (13/2), Key To The Moon (8/1), Bricklagger (10/1), Doyens De Ante (20/1), Fitz The Brief (200/1), Pedro De Styles (200/1), Marias Lad (200/1), Yambocharlie (250/1), Iggy Iggins (250/1)

FULL OF LIGHT has been picked up by Nicky Henderson since landing an Irish bumper and this won't take much winning, so he's a fairly straightforward selection. Clear The Runway made a pleasing start under Rules recently, so he's likeliest to capitalise if the favourite disappoints, although Annual Review isn't without a chance on hurdling bow.
