Opened his account over fences at Worcester in July and has, in the main remained in form since, good third in a handicap hurdle at Warwick 3 weeks ago. Should be on the premises.

Present Chief²⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 11-10| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.| T: J & A O'Neill| OR: 122| D

3/1

Fairly useful winning hurdler who shaped with a good deal of encouragement when third under a patient ride at Worcester on chasing debut 27 days ago. Stiff track will suit, so boasts leading claims.

Form: 14308-3

Mance Rayder^b,t1⁹⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 11-9| J: Jamie Hamilton| T: H Hogarth| OR: 121| C| D

11/1

Durable sort who scored twice at Doncaster last term and went in again at Kelso (27.8f) in May. Has looked anchored by rise in the weights since, fourth at Cartmel 94 days ago. Tongue tied, now.

Form: 22-1534

Louis' Vac Pouch²⁶

Age: 9| Weight: 11-4| J: Ross Chapman| T: P A Kirby| OR: 116

6/1

Winless over fences since 2019, and failed to beat a rival at Market Rasen on reappearance. Others are more persuasive.

Form: 794-578

Speak Of The Devil^p,t¹³⁸

Age: 8| Weight: 10-13| J: S Mulqueen| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR: 111

9/2

Usual deficiencies in the jumping department were not in evidence at Hexham (24.2f) where he landed a 9-runner handicap chase in good style when last seen in June. Big player despite going up 6 lb.

Form: 37P4-21

Generator City^p,t¹⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 10-10| J: Sean Quinlan| T: B Leavy| OR: 108

5/1

Ex-Irish winning chaser for Denis Hogan in Ireland. Creditable third the last twice but doesn't appear to have a great deal in hand.

Form: P45-P33

Lough Derg Farmer^p¹⁷³

Age: 9| Weight: 10-9| J: Thomas Willmott⁽⁵⁾| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR: 107| C

14/1

Turned in one of his better efforts when second of 4 in handicap (26.2f) at Carlisle in December. Took little interest on 3 subsequent appearances, though. Hard to fancy on return.

Form: PP2P7-7

Forecasts

Present Chief (3/1), Oscar Montel (3/1), Speak Of The Devil (9/2), Generator City (5/1), Louis' Vac Pouch (6/1), Event Of Sivola (6/1), Mance Rayder (11/1), Lough Derg Farmer (14/1)

PRESENT CHIEF put his career firmly back on the right path when third at Worcester on chasing debut 27 days ago and, with improvement anticipated, he's fancied to get the better of the consistent Oscar Montel, who is a bit more exposed. Speak of The Devil was successful when last seen in July, but the aforementioned pair have a fitness edge.
