Placed on the first of 3 starts in points and runner-up on Rules debut in what was an ordinary mares' novice in March (hooded). Disappointing next time and likely to strip fitter for this return.

Went backwards from mildly promising debut in bumpers and made no impact at a big price in novice at Warwick on hurdling bow. Up against it once more.

No show in bumpers and unlikely to fare any better switched to hurdling.

Well-related mare who confirmed debut promise when landing a bumper at Ludlow with a bit to spare 149 days ago. Obvious player if he takes to the new discipline.

Modest maiden on the Flat who, following a long absence and a wind operation, was tailed off on her first go at hurdling at Exeter recently. Hard to make any sort of case for.

From a good jumps family and shaped with encouragement on both outings in bumpers. Notable hurdling newcomer who has a fitness edge over a few of her rivals.

Well-related and runner-up in a point, so likely to progress from her inauspicious Rules debut in a novice at Bangor 21 days ago. It'll probably be once qualified for a mark, though.

Encouraging second of 12 in bumper at Newbury first time out but below that level in both subsequent starts, including a novice over C&D on hurdling debut. Hard to fancy.

Improved from debut (for Adam West) when bolting up at Fontwell a year ago. Just respectable efforts in a higher grade since but stable should have him well prepped for this seasonal/hurdling debut.

Forecasts

Ucanaver (8/11), Malaita (2/1), Ahorsewithnoname (11/4), Brilliant Present (9/2), Global Famenglory (13/2), I Will Follow Her (10/1), Rebel Roxy (14/1), She's So Lovely (14/1), The Wild Wild Sea (33/1), Tre A Peni (50/1), Nabvutika (66/1), Luckello (80/1), Lucky Monarch (200/1)

Verdict

UCANAVER was above average in bumpers and impressive on her reappearance last term, so she's fancied to make a winning start over hurdles on her first outing since March. Malaita arrives with a similar profile but might not be quite so well tuned up as the selection, where as Rebel Roxy should be ready to go knowing her stable.

  3. MALAITA
