Didn't need to be at best to win 4-runner novice chase at Kilbeggan (21.9f) in July and excellent second on handicap bow there following month. Markedly down in trip here on debut for new connections.

Generally progressive over hurdles last season, winning twice. Poor effort when last seen in May but best forgiven that given overall profile and sort to make a chaser.

Dual novice hurdle winner who was below par when switched to handicapping at Kelso final start in March. However, represents top yard and must be respected on chasing bow.

Seventeen runs since last win in 2018 but he's knocking at the door, again second of 6 in handicap hurdle at Exeter (18.5f, good to firm) final start. Off 6 months but not an obvious chasing type.

Multiple hurdles winner who doubled chase tally at Haydock (2m) in December. However, well held over fences/hurdles since the turn of the year and bounce back called for on return for new yard.

Dual hurdle winner and has made a good start over fences last term, second at Chepstow before winning comfortably over 2m at Catterick. Trip further than ideal there next time and remains of interest.

Fairly useful form over hurdles last season, winning twice, but opening mark demands more on chase bow/return.

Did well last season. scoring over hurdles at Hereford in December and only just edged out in handicap chase at Fontwell final start. Remains unexposed over fences so needs considering on return.

Forecasts

When You're Ready (3/1), Across The Line (10/3), Demopolis (13/2), Bannister (7/1), Magic Dancer (8/1), Out On The Tear (17/2), Statuario (12/1), Not Available (14/1), Doukarov (16/1), Equus Millar (40/1)

Verdict

DEMOPOLIS might have been outbattled at Fontwell when last seen in March but it was still easily his best effort since coming over to Britain and that was only his third career start over fences. Out On The Tear took well to chasing last season and the drop back in trip will suit, while When You're Ready and Across The Line are interesting debutants to this sphere.

  1. DEMOPOLIS (FR)
  2. OUT ON THE TEAR (IRE)
  3. WHEN YOU'RE READY (IRE)
