9/4

Winning hurdler/chaser who bounced back to best when registering 7-length success at Cartmel (21f) in August, taking over last and quickening clear. Respected once more in this sort of form.

Graystown^p,t³¹

Age: 9| Weight: 11-6| J: Sam Coltherd| T: W Coltherd| OR: 92| CD

5/2

Three of his 4 victories have come around here, latterly over C&D in June. Good third back here (15.6f) from revised mark in August and possibilities again in present groove.

Form: 80-P213

Scots Sonnet⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-2| J: Harry Reed| T: J S Goldie| OR: 88| D

16/5

Modest Flat performer who belatedly shed maiden tag when running out a comfortable scorer over hurdles at Perth (20f) last month. Mark goes unchanged and claims if replicating that over fences.

Form: 4486F1

Epsom Des Mottes¹⁵³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-1| J: Ross Chapman| T: P A Kirby| OR: 87

10/1

Bolted up when making winning chase debut at Newcastle (23.4f) in November. Essentially disappointed in handful of starts since, so hopes pinned on a break freshening him up.

Form: 164U6-P

Izzy's Champion^p,t³¹

Age: 7| Weight: 10-10| J: S Mulqueen| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR: 82| D

17/2

Now 14 lb below last winning mark, but that success was back in January 2020 and whilst he may of needed his first run for 4 months here in August, he's been in a lull for a while now.

Form: P637-37

Roll Of Thunder^p1⁹

Age: 12| Weight: 10-3| J: Craig Nichol| T: J Walton| OR: 75| C| D

10/1

Veteran who wasn't disgraced in trio of starts over shorter here this term. Merely passed beaten rivals when fifth at Perth (20f) 9 days ago but not entirely dismissed from this sort of mark.

Form: 354-255

Forecasts

Tokaramore (9/4), Graystown (5/2), Scots Sonnet (16/5), Cash Again (7/2), Izzy's Champion (17/2), Roll Of Thunder (10/1), Epsom Des Mottes (10/1), Ballycrystal (12/1)

The fact SCOTS SONNET boasts only one victory on Flat/over hurdles is a concern but he scored convicingly over hurdles 7 days ago, benefiting from a positive ride. Operating from the same mark, he could be worth chancing to build on that now his sights are set on chasing. Fellow last-time-out winners Tokaramore and Cash Again, on return from a break, are others to consider.
