11/5

Superbly-bred Frankel colt who continued theme of race-by-race progress when successful at Chester last month. Value for extra on that occasions and mark looks lenient.

Croupier²⁴

Age: 2| Weight: 9-6| J: James Doyle| T: S & E Crisford| OR: 87| CD

85/40

Gambled on and showed much improved form when making a winning nursery debut over C&D 3 weeks ago, well on top finish. Up 10 lb but may have more to offer.

Form: 4441

Altraif¹⁴

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: David Egan| T: J & T Gosden| OR: 86| D

10/3

Put experience to good use when landing 10-runner novice at Kempton a fortnight ago. In top hands but isn't obviously well treated on nursery debut.

Form: 4321

American Star²⁸

Age: 2| Weight: 9-4| J: Oisin Murphy| T: E Walker| OR: 85

11/2

Improved again when a ready winner of 6f maiden at Salisbury in July. Found the Gimcrack too much but this more realistic tackling 7f for the first time.

Form: 6219

Secret Strength¹⁴

Age: 2| Weight: 9-4| J: Rossa Ryan| T: R Hannon| OR: 85

22/1

Winner at Musselburgh in June. Outclassed in the Vintage Stakes but back in a more suitable race and ran quite well when fourth in a nursery at Pontefract two weeks ago.

Like A Lion⁴⁰

Age: 2| Weight: 9-2| J: David Probert| T: W Muir & C Grassick| OR: 83| D

22/1

Knew a lot more when making second start a winning one upped to 7f at Salisbury in July. Ran no sort of race under a penalty at Leicester and mark looks stiff.

Forecasts

Jazz Club (13/8), Croupier (85/40), Nuance (11/5), Altraif (10/3), American Star (11/2), Like A Lion (22/1), Secret Strength (22/1)

NUANCE was impressive at Chester and with his pedigree an ongoing recommendation, he appeals as being the pick of the weights. Croupier got the job done nicely over C&D last month and is second choice.
