Gained a third 6f nursery win when seeing off 5 rivals at Hamilton last week. Clearly a useful juvenile but suspicion he'll be vulnerable under top weight here.

Well held in 3 novices for Luke McJannet in May/June. Needs to have been transformed by a trainer change.

Fairly useful form when close second in Ayr novice and Kempton nursery (both 6f) on last 2 starts. Has Frankie Dettori in the saddle but he'll need a good deal of improvement to get off the mark here.

Demoted after passing the post first in Newbury novice in July and gained compensation in 6f Chelmsford novice the following month. A fair bit more will be needed here, though.

Has improved a chunk with each start, staying on strongly to comfortably see off 13 others in a 6f Windsor maiden last month. Blinkers added. More to come for yard with good record in this.

Left debut run here well behind when winning Carlisle novice in June. Not up the Gimcrack at York since but this a touch easier and the yard has had plenty run well in this over the years.

Fairly useful colt who gained a deserved first success on nursery debut at Ascot (6f, good) in July. Didn't appear to stay 7f at Glorious Goodwood since and likely still in form.

Four-time winner, including a valuable big-field sales race at York's Ebor meeting (6f, good to firm). That form been boosted since and another bold bid looks assured.

Took 4 attempts to get off the mark but he's on the upgrade now if his success in a 7f York nursery 3 weeks ago is anything to go by. That form puts him firmly in the mix here.

Verdict

EVER GIVEN's York form has been boosted by the second/third finishing placed at listed/Group level since and he can emulate Wootton Bassett, who won the same York sales race and this valuable prize in 2010. Harrow posted a very useful performance when landing a nursery at the Ebor meeting and he's feared most ahead of Jazz Club, whose trainer Roger Varian has taken this twice since 2017.
