Retrospect¹²

Age: 4| Weight: 9-12| J: Thore Hammer-Hansen⁽³⁾| T: W Muir & C Grassick| OR: 56

15/8

Maiden who has tumbled in the weights and has put together a couple of creditable efforts recently. Won't get many better chances to open his account with useful 3 lb claimer on board.

Form: 777724

Searching^p¹⁶

Age: 9| Weight: 9-10| J: C Brace⁽³⁾| T: G Harris| OR: 54

66/1

One win from 23 Flat runs. Nineteen runs since last win in 2015. 80/1, ran poorly on reappearance when last of 6 in handicap at this course (12f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Easy to look elsewhere.

Form: 340/40-6

(1)

Calarules^t¹⁸³

Age: 8| Weight: 9-6| J: Thomas Greatrex⁽³⁾| T: Tim Vaughan| OR: 50

33/1

Easy-to-back 11/2, ran no sort of race when pulled up in handicap hurdle at Sedgefield (27f, heavy) back in February. Presumbaly having a pipe opener having not been seen on Flat since 2016.

Form: 645780/

(6)

Ocean Reach^t¹⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 9-6| J: Callum Hutchinson⁽⁵⁾| T: R J Price| OR: 50| C

9/2

12/1, finally got off the mark at the twenty-seventh time of asking when winning 9-runner handicap at this course (12f, good) 15 days ago, leading late on. 5 lb higher mark makes things tougher.

Form: 50-6231

(3)

Street Jester²⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 9-3| J: Dane O'Neill| T: R Stephens| OR: 47

9/1

Shaped as if better for the run after 23 months off when fifth of 7 in handicap at this course (12f, firm, 40/1) 24 days ago. Should be able to make his presence felt from this sort of mark.

Form: 00150/5

(7)

Jack Bean³⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 8-12| J: L Morris| T: Sir Mark Prescott| OR: 52

(5)

Kalamity Kitty²⁴

Forecasts

Retrospect (15/8), Jack Bean (5/2), Kalamity Kitty (9/2), Ocean Reach (9/2), Street Jester (9/1), Calarules (33/1), Searching (66/1)

Having tumbled to a lowly mark, RETROSPECT has strung together a couple of his better efforts recently and he gets the vote to finally open his account with a useful claimer taking off a valuable 3 lb. Street Jester shaped as if better for the run following a lengthy absence so he could provide the main danger, ahead of recent course winner Ocean Reach.
