Foaled March 30. Almanzor colt. Half-brother to several winners, including smart winner up to 1½m Cabaletta and useful 1¾m winner Baihas. Dam 1½m-16.4f winner who stayed 2½m. Bred to need further.

Promising sort. Knew his job when third of 10 in maiden (16/1) at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) on debut 15 days ago, keeping on inside final 1f. Hard to beat with improvement expected.
16/1, showed only greenness when ninth of 10 in maiden at Newcastle (7.1f) on debut 28 days ago, hanging left. Will need to leave that effort behind to feature.
Offered little when eighth of 11 in maiden (25/1) at Lingfield (7f, soft) on debut 21 days ago. Easy to look elsewhere.
Hooded, fared better than the distance beaten suggested when sixth of 13 in minor event at Sandown (7f, heavy, 5/4) on debut 24 days ago, not knocked about. Seems sure to do better.
Foaled February 20. 67,000 gns yearling, Dark Angel colt. Half-brother to winner up to 1½m Zuba and useful 2-y-o 1m winner Starcat. One for shortlist on debut given connections.
Twice-raced maiden. Showed more than first time up when fourth of 6 in maiden (66/1) at Sandown (8f, good to soft) 16 days ago, keeping on final 100 yds.

Forecasts
New Mission (6/5), Claim The Crown (9/4), Outbreak (9/2), Abbado (8/1), Udaberri (18/1), Down To The Kid (66/1), Gilbert (200/1)
CLAIM THE CROWN proved easy to back but shaped with plenty of promise when third at Newmarket just over a fortnight ago. With improvement anticipated, Roger Varian's charge could prove tough to beat. It would be no surprise to see New Mission a different proposition away from the mud so he heads up the dangers, ahead of an interesting newcomer in Outbreak.
