6/1

Career best when winning 10-runner handicap hurdle at Tramore (21f) 7 days ago, leading 2 out and always holding on. Didn't kick on from his return effort last term, so task is to back that up now.

Ashqar^t²¹

Age: 6| Weight: 12-0| J: D G Whelan⁽⁷⁾| T: D Queally| OR: 109| C

5/1

Course winner. First run since leaving Paul John Gilligan when good second of 20 in handicap hurdle at Galway (16.7f, good) 21 days ago, collared dying strides. One to consider on that evidence.

Form: 334P-P2

Toms Courage^h²¹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-13| J: M P Burke⁽⁵⁾| T: J M Burke| OR: 108| C

5/1

Course winner. 12/1, creditable fourth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Galway (16.7f, good) 21 days ago. Can give another good account despite a career-high mark to defy.

Form: P4121-4

Fox Fearless^v⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: B Browne⁽³⁾| T: O McKiernan| OR: 107

18/1

Winner in hurdle at Leopardstown in March. 20/1, twelfth of 15 in handicap at Gowran (9.4f, good) 9 days ago. Switches from Flat to hurdles. Poor on last hurdle run.

Form: 01260-9

Presenting Bonnie³⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-10| J: B J Cooper| T: J P Ryan| OR: 105| BF| C

8/1

Landed back-to-back maiden/handicaps at 2m here earlier this term. Recent efforts not so inspiring though, only ninth of 11 in handicap hurdle back at this course (16f, good) 35 days ago.

Form: 9-F1189

Daicheadacuig¹⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-9| J: J B Foley⁽⁷⁾| T: A J McNamara| OR: 104| CD

12/1

Opened account in a C&D maiden in June. Long way below that form since, well beaten seventh of 15 in handicap hurdle at Cork (18.8f, soft) 18 days ago.

Form: 4-51507

Woodbrook Boy^p,t²⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-9| J: J S McGarvey| T: J J Hanlon| OR: 104

8/1

Latest win in hurdle at Listowel in June. Creditable 2¼ lengths fourth of 15 to Royal Recital in handicap hurdle at Limerick (20f) in July, a late error proving his undoing. One to consider.

Form: 9P-1F64

Royal Recital^p¹⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: C A Landers| T: R O'Sullivan| OR: 102

11/2

Winner in hurdle at Limerick in July. 10/3, creditable fourth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Wexford (20.4f, good) 14 days ago. Remains one to be interested in from this sort of mark.

Form: 00/2214

Lunastar²²

Age: 7| Weight: 11-6| J: Eoin G Kelly⁽⁷⁾| T: A Murray| OR: 101

12/1

First run since leaving Paul W. Flynn when below form twelfth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Galway (16f, good, 33/1) 22 days ago. That was his first start for 4 months and this should reveal more.

Form: 64920-0

Bergentown¹⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 11-4| J: M Hamill⁽³⁾| T: P Fenton| OR: 102

100/1

125/1, tenth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Cork (18.8f, soft) 18 days ago. Remains with no form so far this season and he can only be watched at present.

Form: 40-0000

Sonny John^p1⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Darragh O'Keeffe| T: E Sheehy| OR: 93

33/1

Last of 11 in maiden at Tramore (2m) on flat debut 8 days ago. Previous hurdling exploits hardly the most inspiring but he is at least still relatively low mileage.

Form: 02450-0

Jenny's Getaway^t⁹⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-10| J: R Deegan⁽⁵⁾| T: P M J Doyle| OR: 91

10/1

Lightly-raced maiden. 9/1, third of 13 in novice hurdle at Clonmel (16.7f) 99 days ago, making late headway. Entitled to hold more chance now handicapping and interesting if strong in the betting.

Form: 534-3

Little Brown Mouse⁸⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 10-3| J: A W Short| T: D A McLoughlin| OR: 87

40/1

Thrice-raced maiden. Twelfth of 18 in novice hurdle (50/1) at Limerick (19f, soft) 85 days ago, never landing a blow. Another who will at least hold more chance now handicapping.

Form: 0-60

One For Della^h³⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 10-3| J: L P Dempsey| T: W J Austin| OR: 84

28/1

Modest maiden on the Flat. Thrice-raced maiden over hurdles. Fifth of 14 in novice hurdle (50/1) at this course (16f, good) 35 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut.

Form: 8F5

X' Girl^p,t³²

Age: 5| Weight: 10-0| J: C D Maxwell| T: A McCann| OR: 81

33/1

80/1, twelfth of 14 in handicap at Ballinrobe (12.6f, good) 32 days ago, left poorly placed. Switches from Flat to hurdles. Cheekpieces back on. Poor on last hurdle run.

Form: UP000-0

Headline Joe²⁶⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 9-13| J: C J Orr| T: M Torrens| OR: 80

33/1

Poor maiden hurdler who offered little in a couple of Flat starts on AW late last year. Has since switched yard but hard to make a case for on his achievements to date.

Forecasts

Toms Courage (5/1), Ashqar (5/1), Royal Recital (11/2), Turbo (6/1), Presenting Bonnie (8/1), Woodbrook Boy (8/1), Jenny's Getaway (10/1), Daicheadacuig (12/1), Lunastar (12/1), Fox Fearless (18/1), One For Della (28/1), Headline Joe (33/1), X' Girl (33/1), Sonny John (33/1), Little Brown Mouse (40/1), Bergentown (100/1)

With his usual front-running tactics employed, WOODBROOK BOY ran well and looked set to go very close when fourth at Limerick (2½m) last month, a late error proving his undoing on the day. He gets the nod to confirm the promise of that run dropping back down in trip, with Ashqar, Royal Recital and Toms Courage heading up the dangers, in that order.
