Off time: 19:00 | Winning time: 5m 1.30s

Samba Dancer⁸⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 12-1| J: P J Brennan| T: F O'Brien| OR: 107

10/3

Fair maiden hurdler for Eoin Doyle in Ireland, performing with credit in handicaps in the spring. Joined a good yard and very interesting, particularly if betting vibes strong.

Form: 4305-35

Ashton Court¹⁴⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-12| J: Mr Zac Baker⁽³⁾| T: Simon Earle| OR: 104

50/1

A modest, if consistent, maiden in Ireland. Well held on yard debut in March and off again since. Watching brief advised.

Form: 225268-

Jewari Of Saints^p1,t1³⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 11-11| J: T Scudamore| T: D Pipe| OR: 107

15/2

Joined David Pipe since readily winning a claiming hurdle in Dieppe last month. Mark looks manageable based on that form so she has to be high on the shortlist.

Form: 251

Echo Du Large¹⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-10| J: T J O'Brien| T: R Stephens| OR: 102

18/1

Placed on a few occasions but well and truly found out back in handicap company last time. Wait for that first success may go on a bit longer.

Form: 2P0-247

Dorking Rogue^h²²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-10| J: R T Dunne| T: S Drinkwater| OR: 102

5/1

Hinted at ability in 4 outings for Tom Lacey and has made a positive start for new trainer, finishing runner-up in 2m handicaps here on his last 2 starts. Hood refitted now up in trip. On shortlist.

Form: 475-422

Get Supreme^t²²

Age: 8| Weight: 11-8| J: Patrick Cowley⁽³⁾| T: B Barr| OR: 100

50/1

Lightly raced but little promise in 2 outings for new yard last month.

Form: P3-6667

Minella Mojo^p²⁷

Age: 9| Weight: 11-5| J: David Noonan| T: C J Down| OR: 97| D

14/1

Just the one win to his name from 17 starts over hurdles and he was a well-beaten fifth over C&D last month. Others more obvious.

Form: 504-645

Translink^t³⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-5| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N P Mulholland| OR: 97

16/1

Showed fair form in bumpers and caught eye on third start over hurdles when sixth of 12 at Market Rasen in May. Yet to be asked for effort when falling 3 out on Stratford handicap debut. Player.

Form: D655-6F

Give Us A Swig³⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-4| J: G Sheehan| T: S Curran| OR: 96| CD

17/2

Winning pointer who showed improved form when off the mark under Rules in C&D handicap 34 days ago. Likely to remain competitive after a 6 lb rise.

Form: 068-401

Grimm Star³⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 10-11| J: W T Kennedy| T: S-J Davies| OR: 89

66/1

Fair ex-Irish hurdler who made a good start for Dr Richard Newland when third at Hereford in January but hasn't built on that, including for this yard in 3 outings in recent months.

Form: 739-6P5

Benny In Milan^p²¹

Age: 10| Weight: 10-6| J: Henry Brooke| T: Mrs Stella Barclay| OR: 84| D

100/1

It's now 13 runs since last win in 2018 and he was always behind at Perth last time. Easy to look elsewhere.

Form: 6/788-P0

Midnight Jewel¹⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 10-1| J: Tom Buckley⁽⁵⁾| T: C E Longsdon| OR: 79

2/1

Off the mark over hurdles when making all at Market Rasen (18.5f, good to firm) 17 days ago but it was a weak race and a 5 lb rise may find him out in what looks a deeper affair.

Form: 4-7P321

Non-Runners

Can You Believe It⁴⁷

Weight: 11-12| Age: 8

T: Nicky Martin J: Matt Griffiths

Sweeping Rock³⁸

Weight: 10-2| Age: 11

Forecasts

Midnight Jewel (2/1), Samba Dancer (10/3), Dorking Rogue (5/1), Sweeping Rock (7/1), Can You Believe It (7/1), Jewari Of Saints (15/2), Give Us A Swig (17/2), Minella Mojo (14/1), Translink (16/1), Echo Du Large (18/1), Get Supreme (50/1), Ashton Court (50/1), Grimm Star (66/1), Benny In Milan (100/1)

An opening British mark of 107 looks workable for JEWARI OF SAINTS based on the manner of her comfortable all-the-way success in a French claimer last month so she's the selection, although a strong market move for Samba Dancer, who also starts out for a good new yard here, would make a him a big threat. Translink and Dorking Rogue are also shortlisted in what could be a good race for the grade.
