Improved to make second hurdle start a winning one at Stratford in July and not discredited when runner-up under a penalty there next time. Looks vulnerable to more talented sorts, however.

Fairly useful on the Flat at up to 1½m and left form of hurdling debut behind when landing a C&D novice a month ago. Scope for better still, so not dismissed under a penalty.

Lightly raced and landed a gamble in clear-cut style on his final outing for John Halley at Killarney in May. Couple of spins on the Flat for this yard should have him spot on for follow-up bid.

Useful on the Flat for Mark Johnston but hasn't been seen for over 3 years, so would take a leap of faith to support him on hurdling bow for new yard.

Fair form in bumpers and ran to a similar level sent hurdling when fourth over C&D on hurdling debut. Failed to back that up, though, and others have more potential.

Well held in jumpers bumper/all 5 starts over hurdles. Blinkers tried now.

Well-bred and in good hands so, while she didn't come up to expectations when only sixth in a bumper at Uttoxeter on debut, she's not one to write off now switched to hurdling.

Has a reasonable pedigree but shaped like a stayer in bumper at Stratford on belated debut. More one for the longer term.

Fairly useful in bumpers, winning at this track on penultimate start, and bred to take to obstacles, so not a forlorn hope on first go at hurdling.

Forecasts

Our Colossus (11/4), Mr Tambourine Man (3/1), Renardeau (7/2), Baileys Excelerate (9/2), Big G (9/2), Ambassador (9/2), Tiffany Rose (18/1), Cool Tara (80/1), Out Of Nowhere (100/1), Twice The Mustard (300/1), Iroseaboveitall (300/1)

Verdict

MR TAMBOURINE MAN was highly impressive when landing a maiden at Killarney in May and the form has worked out since. Having had a couple of Flat outings for his new yard, he should be well tuned up for this return to hurdling, so he's marginally preferred to Ambassador, with Renardeau also on the shortlist.

  1. MR TAMBOURINE MAN (IRE)
  2. AMBASSADOR (IRE)
  3. RENARDEAU
