In fine form over fences earlier this year, just touched off when bidding for the 4-timer at Sedgefield in April. Failed to fire in a handicap hurdle last time, but merits respect back in this sphere.

Bagged handicap chases at Ludlow and Huntingdon in May, but latest C&D effort off this revised mark left much to be desired.

Proved consistent prior to getting off the mark at Fakenham in November, but form has dipped pretty badly the last twice and he needs to bounce back.

It's been a struggle so far this year, but he's dangerous to discount back at the scene of his 3 chase victories, the latest of which was gained off a 15 lb higher mark last August.

Finally off the mark when winning at Southwell in July 2019. Hasn't managed to match that form in 3 runs since returning from a lengthy absence and he's opposable on balance.

Forecasts

Captain Cobajay (9/4), Fort De L'Ocean (10/3), Little Stevie (9/2), Mariners Moon (11/2), Costly Diamond (13/2), Court Jurado (10/1), Valseur Du Granval (25/1)

Verdict

FORT DE L'OCEAN's profile is rather patchy, but that remark applies to each of his six rivals, too, and he could be the way to go. The 6-y-o scored over hurdles on his penultimate start and was runner-up over C&D off a 7 lb higher mark on his latest start in this sphere. Costly Diamond has to be feared back chasing given her exploits earlier this year, but Little Stevie is second choice.

  1. FORT DE L'OCEAN (FR)
  2. LITTLE STEVIE
  3. COSTLY DIAMOND (IRE)
